Ein 215 kg schwerer Retro mit 948-cm³-Vierzylinder verbraucht Bremsbeläge, und der Besitzer einer Z900RS hat eine zweite Sorge, die die meisten Fahrer nicht haben: Die vorderen Scheiben gehören zum Erscheinungsbild des Motorrads. Diese Kombination zwang bisher zur Wahl zwischen einem langlebigen und einem schonenden Belag. EXR, ab 2026 die Nachfolgerin der EXC Endurance, ist ZCOOs Versuch, diese Wahl abzuschaffen - Haltbarkeit auf EXC-Niveau mit einer auf Progression statt auf rohen Angriff überarbeiteten Mischung.
Wichtigste Merkmale

- Progressiver Aufbau hinter einem Erstanbiss auf EXC-Niveau, damit eine 215-kg-Maschine im Schritttempo nicht zupackt
- Bessere Kaltwirkung und höhere Temperaturstabilität als die Vorgängermischung
- Neue Trägerplattenlegierung - relevant unter einem Tokico-Vierkolbensattel, der sich unter Dauerdruck aufweitet
- Gleiche T004-Form wie die EX-Race-Ausführung, 71,5 × 50,0 mm bei 8,5 mm; eine Packung je Sattel, zwei für die Z900RS
Aufbau und Materialqualität
Der Wechsel von EXC auf EXR steckt nicht nur in der Reibmischung. ZCOO hat für die Mischung eine neue Trägerplattenlegierung festgelegt, und bei einem Motorrad, das lange gleichmäßige statt kurzer heftiger Bremsungen erzeugt, ist die Plattensteifigkeit das, was den Kontaktbereich ehrlich hält. Der Reibbelag bleibt keramisch gesintert und in Japan gefertigt; die T004-Geometrie ist identisch mit dem EX-Race-Belag, am Einbau ändert sich nichts.
Wirkung und Gefühl
Für eine Z900RS ist nicht die Spitzenkraft die interessante Zahl, sondern wie oft die Beläge gewechselt werden müssen und was sie die Scheiben dabei kosten. EXR ist auf oder über EXC-Haltbarkeit eingestuft, und ZCOOs Keramikmischungen bilden auf der Scheibe einen schützenden Film, statt sie abzutragen. Die zwanzig Prozent aus der zweiten Bremsphase sind die Zugabe und nicht der Punkt: Sie zeigen sich am Fuß eines Passes, wenn ein schweres Motorrad zwei Kilometer lang auf der Bremse stand und der Fahrer mehr will.
Passform und Kompatibilität
Von ZCOO gelistet für die Kawasaki Z900RS von 2018 bis 2026. Dieselbe T004-Form deckt die Z900RS Cafe, die Z1000SX, die Ninja 1000SX und mehrere Suzuki-V-Strom-Modelle ab. Nur Vorderachse. EXR ist seit Anfang September 2026 lieferbar; ein Datenblatt über die genannten Punkte hinaus gibt es nicht.
Straßenzulassung
Für diesen Belag ist keine ECE-R90-Genehmigung dokumentiert. Sie steht weder im ZCOO-Katalog noch auf der Seite des europäischen Distributors, und auf den uns vorliegenden Verpackungsdaten ist keine Genehmigungsnummer angegeben. ZCOO selbst beschreibt die Mischung als gleichermaßen für Renn- und Straßenmaschinen geeignet – das ist eine Beschreibung der Mischung und keine Typgenehmigung. Solange der Distributor keine Genehmigung schriftlich bestätigt, behandeln Sie den Belag als Renn- und Rennstreckenteil: In Deutschland darf ein Ersatzbremsbelag ohne ECE-R90-Genehmigung nicht an einem im öffentlichen Straßenverkehr genutzten Motorrad verbaut werden.
