Staub wird meist als ein Ort vorgestellt: eine Schotterpiste, ein trockenes Flussbett, irgendwo, wohin eine straßenzugelassene 155er selten kommt. Bei einer Maschine, die für gewöhnliche Fahrten genutzt wird, versteht man ihn besser als eine Jahreszeit. Pollen für ein paar Wochen im Frühling, Wintersplitt, der noch lange nach den Salzstreu-Fahrzeugen aufgewirbelt wird, eine Trockenperiode, die jeden Feldrand zur Quelle macht, ein Sommer voller Straßenbauarbeiten mit noch losem Feinmaterial auf der Oberfläche. Der ZT 155G begegnet in sechs Wochen davon vielleicht mehr Feststoffen in der Luft als im restlichen Jahr zusammen.

Eine Belastung, die in Schüben kommt
Über ein Jahr gemittelt wirkt die Luft, die eine im Pendelverkehr genutzte 155er atmet, unauffällig, und ein für diesen Durchschnitt gewähltes Medium wäre für die wenigen Wochen, die den Großteil der Arbeit leisten, das falsche. Die Belastung verteilt sich nicht gleichmäßig über den Tacho; sie kommt in konzentrierten Schüben, und genau in diesen Schüben hat eine weitere Öffnung am meisten Material, für das sie weit ist. Das feinere Gewebe ist eine Möglichkeit, für die schlimmsten statt für die typischen Wochen zu kaufen – vernünftig, wenn der Preis dafür Durchfluss ist und nicht Zuverlässigkeit.
Eine Entscheidung, die offenbleibt
Sie muss auch nicht endgültig sein. Beide Medien sind waschbar und passen beide in denselben Kasten, sodass ein Besitzer, der die feinere Spezifikation für unnötig hält, nichts verliert, was sich nicht mit einem Service-Intervall rückgängig machen ließe. Keines der beiden Elemente macht die Maschine schneller: Kein Einsteckfilter bringt einem Serienmotorrad Leistung, und dieses hier gibt bewusst etwas Ansaugreserve her. Die ehrliche Beschreibung des Nutzens ist enger gefasst und dauerhafter – eine auf 14 Mikron ausgelegte Barriere, ein Widerstand, der beim Ausblasen wieder auf seinen Ausgangswert zurückkehrt, und ein Teil, das gewartet statt neu gekauft wird.
Pflege und Reinigung
Zunächst die trockene Wartung: eine Druckluftpistole an der sauberen Seite, nach außen geführt, treibt die Saison wieder aus dem Medium heraus. Hat sich die Ablagerung eher festgesetzt als nur abgelagert, das Element in lauwarmem Wasser mit mildem Spülmittel waschen und gründlich spülen. Anschließend trocknet es an offener, bewegter Luft bei Umgebungstemperatur – nie mit Hitze, nie über einer Flamme –, und der SM276P14 kehrt trocken und unbehandelt in das Gehäuse zurück.
