Viele Monkeys ab Baujahr 2022 sehen nie eine Autobahn. Sie fahren die letzte Etappe: Feldweg zum Ferienhaus, Zufahrt zum Strand, Campingplatz, auf dem der Rasen längst zu Sand geworden ist. Feiner Staub in kleinen Mengen, den ganzen Sommer über. Für genau diesen Einsatz an der Fünfgang-Monkey baut Sprint Filter den SM302P14 – mit einem Vlies, das deutlich feiner filtert als der Alltags-P08, und exakt so groß wie der Honda-Filter, den er ersetzt.

Durchsatz gegen Feinheit
Der P14 lässt je Quadratmeter etwa ein Drittel der Luft durch, die der P08 schafft, und lohnt sich nur, weil die Monkey den Rest nicht braucht. Ihr 124-cm³-Einzylinder leistet neun PS; der Luftbedarf unter Volllast ist klein, und ein feineres Medium deckt ihn problemlos. An einem großen, gierigen Motor wäre dieselbe Wahl spürbar. Hier kostet sie fast nichts und hält dafür Partikel zurück, die der P08 passieren ließe. Wer nur auf sauberen Straßen unterwegs ist, nimmt besser den P08; der P14 zahlt sich erst dort aus, wo man den Staub in der Luft sieht.
Hier kommt es auf die Maße an
Das frühere Monkey-Element PM179 hat ein höheres Filterpaket als das Honda-Teil. In der ersten Generation passt es, bei der zweiten geht der Deckel nicht mehr zu. Für einen Staubfilter ist das der schlimmste Fall: Ein Deckel, der nicht dichtet, lässt ungefilterte Luft am Rand vorbei und macht ein 14-Mikron-Medium wertlos. Der SM302P14 hat Hondas Kontur und Höhe, die Dichtung sitzt also dort, wo Honda sie vorgesehen hat.
Pflege und Reinigung
Staub setzt sich in die Tiefe eines Vlieses, daher etwas früher reinigen als einen P08. Druckluft von innen nach außen holt das meiste heraus. Ist der Schmutz klebrig geworden, hilft ein Bad in lauwarmem Wasser mit mildem Reiniger, danach gründlich spülen und bei Raumtemperatur langsam trocknen lassen. Passform & Kompatibilität
Für die Honda Monkey 125 ab Baujahr 2022: Rahmen JB03 und JB05, fünf Gänge, Luftfilterdeckel mit Teilenummer 17235-K0F-T60. Die Viergang-JB02 von 2018 bis 2021 braucht stattdessen PM179P14. Nicht nach der Honda-Filternummer 17210-K0F-T00 gehen – Honda hat sie in beiden Generationen verwendet. Getriebe, Rahmennummer oder Deckelnummer unterscheiden die Maschinen zuverlässig.
