Sprint Filter offers this Scrambler three media, and only one of them has neighbours on both sides. The standard weave sits above it at 80 µm and 5,050 l/m²/sec; the extreme mat sits below it at 7 µm and 560. The 14-micron grade in the middle therefore has to answer two questions rather than one — why not stay coarser, and why not go finer — and it is the only rung on this motorcycle that does. PM207P14 is that middle position, and the case for it is narrower and more specific than either end.
Key Features
- Dry special nonwoven with a 14 µm rating, the fine-dust grade for this Ducati airbox
- 1,800 l/m²/sec of rated flow — roughly a third of the standard panel, given up deliberately
- Supplied dry and refitted dry: no oiling step, and nothing that can wander onto the sensors
- Occupies the original element's position in the series box, without modification or remapping
- Approximately twice the filtering surface of a conventional performance element
- Cleaned and put back rather than thrown out, with a two-year warranty from purchase
Answering both neighbours
Against the standard weave, the argument is retention: 14 microns hold a size fraction an 80-micron cloth was never drawn to stop, which is worth having where unsealed roads are part of the week rather than an occasional detour. Against the 7-micron mat, the argument is proportion. The finest grade passes a ninth of the standard rating and is specified for conditions in which dust is the working environment, not an ingredient. A Scrambler ridden on gravel lanes and forest tracks lives between those descriptions, and this grade is drawn for exactly that in-between.
A trade, and nothing more than a trade
Finer retains more and passes less. That is the whole relationship, and it runs in both directions — the P14 is not an upgrade over the P08 and the T12 is not an upgrade over the P14; each is drawn for different air. None of them adds power either. Any element fitted to an unmodified airbox leaves a standard Scrambler 800 exactly as strong as it was homologated, and a fine grade returns some rated flow into the bargain. What is bought is protection matched to the ground, plus a panel serviced instead of consumed.
Care and cleaning
Compressed air, aimed at the clean face and directed outward, is the standing service for the PM207P14 — the load then leaves the way it arrived. Heavier deposits release in lukewarm water with a small amount of mild detergent, rinsed until the run-off is clear. Drying is by room-temperature air only; heat guns, radiators and flames end a nonwoven of this type quickly and without visible warning. Put it back dry, with nothing sprayed on. The cleaning sheet is filed in the Downloads tab of this page.
Fitment & Compatibility
Listed for the Ducati Scrambler 800 built between 2024 and 2026, and for the Ducati Monster and Monster+ from 2021 — two machines on this code. Scramblers up to 2023 take a different part number. Build years are given in the Fitment tab.
