Sucht man einen Performance-Filter für eine 150er dieser Klasse, ist das meiste, was dabei herauskommt, geölt: Baumwollgaze oder Schaumstoff, feucht ausgeliefert oder mit einer Flasche im Karton, auf Klebkraft angewiesen, um aufzufangen, was das zu offene Gewebe nicht stoppen kann. Die V-Ixion ist einspritzend, und ein einspritzender Motor misst seine Luft, bevor er überhaupt etwas entscheidet. Was den Filter verlässt, wandert zu genau den Instrumenten, die diese Messung vornehmen. Der Sprint Filter P08 PM116S klärt die Frage, indem er kein Öl enthält: ein trockenes Gewebe-Polyester-Element, das ausschließlich über die Gewebegeometrie filtert, mit einem Luftschlauch gereinigt und direkt wieder eingebaut.

Eine Dosis, die niemand überprüfen kann
Bei einem geölten Filter ist das Öl ein funktionaler Bestandteil, was die Menge zu einer Entscheidung macht, die der Besitzer bei jeder Reinigung trifft. Zu wenig, und das offene Gewebe lässt durch, was es eigentlich stoppen sollte; zu viel, und der Überschuss wird zur Drosselklappe gezogen. Keiner der beiden Fehler kündigt sich an, und das Ergebnis lässt sich hinterher nicht überprüfen, weil der Filter in beiden Fällen ähnlich aussieht. Ein trockenes Gewebe eliminiert diese Entscheidung vollständig. Seine Rückhaltung ist eine Eigenschaft des Gewebes, identisch nach der zehnten Reinigung wie nach der ersten, und die Routine enthält keinen Schritt, der schlecht ausgeführt werden könnte.
Zahlen, und was sie nicht sind
Sprint Filters Vergleich setzt den trockenen P08 bei 93,13 Prozent Rückhaltung von 100-Mikron-Testpartikeln an, ein vierlagiges geöltes Baumwollelement im selben Test bei 76,42 Prozent. Nützlich zu wissen, und dennoch kein Leistungsversprechen: Eine Serien-V-Ixion gewinnt durch ein Element, das in das Serien-Gehäuse passt, keine Leistung, und jede gegenteilige Beschreibung beschreibt etwas anderes. Was die Änderung bringt, ist ein Ansaugwiderstand, der niedrig beginnt und niedrig bleibt, statt sich unbemerkt zuzusetzen, während sich das Papier füllt – dazu eine Maschine, die noch am selben Abend wieder zusammengebaut werden kann, weil kein Trocknen und Nachölen abzuwarten ist.
Pflege und Reinigung
Zuerst Luft: von der sauberen Seite nach außen gearbeitet, das erledigt die üblichen Serviceintervalle. Dann Wasser, wenn es wirklich nötig ist – lauwarm, mit einem milden Reinigungsmittel, klar gespült. Danach Trocknen, vollständig und ausschließlich an der Luft; Hitze und Flamme schädigen das Gewebe, und ein feucht wiedereingebauter PM116S ist schlimmer als ein schmutzig belassener. Passform & Kompatibilität
Gefertigt für die Yamaha FZ150i V-Ixion, Baujahre 2008 bis 2018. Derselbe Luftfilterkasten wurde bei vier Maschinen dieser Generation in 125-cm³- und 150-cm³-Ausführung verbaut, alle bedient von diesem Element; die Details finden Sie im Fitment-Tab.
