Es ist verlockend anzunehmen, dass der größte Motor eines Sortiments seinen Luftfilter am härtesten fordert. Bei einer Hayabusa übersteht diese Annahme die Übersetzung nicht. Das ist ein Motorrad, das für Geschwindigkeiten übersetzt ist, die es fast nie fährt, sodass es bei gewöhnlichem Reisetempo niedertourig läuft – und ein Motor nimmt Luft in Takten auf, nicht in Litern Hubraum. Weniger Takte pro Kilometer bedeuten weniger Luftdurchgänge durch das Element. Was das Panel einer Hayabusa belastet, ist nicht die Größe des Motors, sondern die gefahrenen Stunden und die befahrenen Straßen, und der Sprint Filter P08 PM70S ist genau für diese Auslegung der Aufgabe spezifiziert.

Takte, nicht Liter
Der Hubraum sagt aus, wie viel Luft ein Motor pro Umdrehung bewegt, nicht wie viele Umdrehungen er braucht, um eine Strecke zurückzulegen. Eine lang übersetzte Kraftübertragung verschiebt diese Rechnung erheblich, sodass ein langbeiniger Tourer eine Saison durch ein Element schicken und es dabei weniger belasten kann als ein kleiner, drehfreudiger Motor über dieselbe Distanz. Weder der Tachostand noch der Hubraum auf dem Typenschild sagt Ihnen, in welchem Zustand der Filter ist. Nur der Blick darauf tut das. Das ist das Argument für ein Element, das man herausnehmen, kontrollieren und direkt wieder einbauen kann.
Woher die eigentliche Belastung kommt
Die andere Hälfte sind Stunden und Luftqualität: lange Sommerstrecken, Ferienverkehr, trockene Bankette und Baustellen. Diese belasten ein Panel gleichmäßig, unabhängig davon, in welchem Gang das Motorrad läuft, und ein Papierelement ist an dem Tag, an dem es eingebaut wird, am offensten. Mit etwa der doppelten Gewebefläche zu beginnen bedeutet, dass eine gegebene Staubmenge einen kleineren Anteil davon bedeckt, und Druckluft setzt das Element wieder auf seinen Ausgangswert zurück. Sprint Filter maß beim trockenen P08 eine Rückhaltung von 93,13 Prozent der 100-Mikron-Testpartikel gegenüber 76,42 bei vierlagiger geölter Baumwolle. Was nichts davon tut, ist eine Serien-Hayabusa spürbar stärker zu machen – das schafft kein Einsteck-Element. Wo die Luft staubiger ist, wird das Sortiment feiner gewebt – P037 mit 37 Mikron und 4.500 Liter, P14 mit 14 und 1.800, T12 mit 7 und 560 – jedes hält mehr zurück und lässt weniger durch.
Pflege und Reinigung
Druckluft ist die Routine: die Düse an die saubere Seite des PM70S halten und den Schmutz auf demselben Weg zurücktreiben, den er gekommen ist. Wo Luft etwas zurücklässt, das Element in lauwarmem Wasser mit einem milden Reinigungsmittel waschen und ausspülen, bis das Wasser klar abläuft. Vollständig in bewegter Luft trocknen lassen, nie mit Hitze und nie in der Nähe einer Flamme, und trocken wieder einbauen. Das Wartungsblatt liegt im Downloads-Tab bereit.
Passform & Kompatibilität
Gefertigt für die Suzuki Hayabusa, Baujahre 2008 bis 2019, eingesetzt im unveränderten Serien-Luftfilterkasten. Es ist ausschließlich für diese Generation gelistet; die ab 2021 gebaute Maschine nimmt ein anderes Element. Siehe den Fitment-Tab.
