Manche Motorräder werden in Kilometern gezählt, manche in Wochenenden. Ist die GSX-8TT, neu für 2026, Ihr Schönwetter-Motorrad statt Ihr einziges, altert sie eher nach Kalender als nach Tachostand – herausgeholt, wenn der Tag es wert ist, und danach wieder abgestellt. Ein Luftfilterkasten hört nicht auf, Staub und feuchte Luft aufzunehmen, nur weil die Jahreslaufleistung bescheiden ausfällt, und ein Element, das jahrelang verbaut bleibt, weil die Laufleistung nie einen Neukauf zu rechtfertigen schien, ist nicht in dem Zustand, den sein Preis suggerierte. Der Sprint Filter P08 SM245S ist dafür gemacht, herausgenommen und angesehen zu werden – die einzig ehrliche Art, es zu wissen.

Stehen ist auch eine Art Belastung
Über einen Winter in der Garage bewegt sich die Luft im Ansaugtrakt weiterhin mit der Temperatur, trägt weiterhin Staub, und kondensiert weiterhin auf kaltem Metall, wenn das Wetter umschlägt. Ein trockenes Element nimmt das alles gelassen: Es gibt keinen Ölfilm, der sich verdünnt, wandert oder zu einer Kruste eintrocknet, sodass im Frühjahr dasselbe Gewebe herauskommt, das im Herbst hineinging. Die Kontrolle vor der ersten Ausfahrt des Jahres besteht aus Druckluft von der sauberen Seite nach außen und einem Blick auf die Dichtfläche – ein paar Minuten, nichts zu kaufen, kein Warten auf ein Ersatzteil. Das ist eine Wartung, die ein Schönwetterfahrer tatsächlich durchführt, was mehr wert ist als jedes im Handbuch stehende, nie erreichte Intervall.
Einmal gekauft, bewusst
Bei einem Motorrad mit geringer Laufleistung geht die Rechnung eines Wegwerfelements nicht auf. Es wird ersetzt, weil ein Datum erreicht ist, nicht weil es aufgebraucht wurde, und derselbe Aufwand wiederholt sich alle paar Jahre, solange das Motorrad im Besitz ist. Sprint Filter baut den P08 so, dass er so lange hält wie das Motorrad: eine einzelne Lage gewebtes Polyester aus Fäden ab 22 Mikrometern Durchmesser, mit einer Filterfeinheit von 80 Mikrometern und einem Durchfluss von 5.050 Litern pro Quadratmeter und Sekunde über etwa die doppelte Fläche anderer Filter. Er macht die GSX-8TT nicht schneller – das tut nichts im Serien-Luftfilterkasten –, aber er hält den Ansaugwiderstand nahe am Ausgangswert. Wo die Bedingungen härter sind, folgen feinere Gewebe: P037 mit 37 Mikrometern, P14 mit 14, T12 mit 7, jedes tauscht Durchfluss gegen Rückhaltevermögen.
Pflege und Reinigung
Eine an die saubere Seite gehaltene Druckluftpistole, nach außen geblasen, ist die Standardwartung, und die erste Ausfahrt des Jahres ist ein guter Moment dafür. Eine gründlichere Reinigung bedeutet lauwarmes Wasser mit einem milden Reinigungsmittel, gespült, bis das Wasser klar bleibt, dann frische Luft, bis der SM245S ganz durchgetrocknet ist.
