Elf Modelljahre unter einer Teilenummer sind eine lange Laufzeit für jedes Bauteil an einem Motorrad. Die Shiver 750 wurde von 2007 bis 2017 geführt, und der PM108S deckt sie vollständig ab, was bedeutet, dass die Maschinen, für die dieses Element heute gekauft wird, gebrauchte Motorräder sind, die meisten mit einer Wartungshistorie, die jemand anderes geschrieben hat. Das verändert, wofür der Filter da ist. Bei einer neuen Maschine wäre er ein Upgrade; bei einem Twin dieses Alters ist er eines der wenigen Ansaugteile, deren Zustand man selbst feststellen kann, statt ihn im Vertrauen zu übernehmen.

Die Rechnung einer langen Besitzdauer
Papiereinsätze wirken einzeln günstig und deutlich weniger günstig in der Reihe. Über ein Jahrzehnt Fahrbetrieb verbraucht die Shiver einen ganzen Stapel davon, und jede dieser Wartungen ist ein Kauf, eine Teilenummer zum Nachjagen und eine Verzögerung, sobald das Regal leer ist. Polyester ersetzt die gesamte Abfolge durch eine Luftdüse. Bei einer älteren Maschine, bei der die Ersatzteilversorgung für ein ausgelaufenes Modell eine echte Überlegung ist, hat der Reiz weniger mit Leistung zu tun als damit, nicht davon abhängig zu sein, dass jemand ein Verschleißteil für ein Motorrad vorrätig hält, das seit Jahren nicht mehr gebaut wird.
Was Sie prüfen können und was nicht
Ein Gebrauchtmotorrad kommt mit Unbekannten. Ein schmutziger Papiereinsatz sagt fast nichts aus — er könnte eine Wartung oder fünf Wartungen alt sein —, und es gibt keinen Weg zurück, egal welches davon zutrifft. Ein Polyesterelement wird geprüft, durchgeblasen und wieder eingesetzt, sodass die Ansaugseite schlicht aufhört, eine der Unbekannten zu sein. Das ist der gesamte Vorteil, und er reicht nicht bis zur Leistung: Ein Element in einem unveränderten Luftfilterkasten macht eine Serienmaschine nicht spürbar stärker, bei einem 750er-Twin am wenigsten.
Pflege und Reinigung
Die Wartung des PM108S verlangt eine Luftdüse und Geduld statt Lösungsmittel. Arbeiten Sie von der sauberen Seite aus und blasen Sie nach außen, damit der Schmutz das Gewebe auf demselben Weg verlässt, auf dem er hineingekommen ist, und decken Sie dabei die gesamte Fläche gleichmäßig ab. Ein Film, den Luft nicht löst, lässt sich mit lauwarmem Wasser und einer kleinen Menge mildem Spülmittel entfernen, danach klar nachspülen. Anschließend trocknet er ausschließlich an Raumluft — niemals mit Heißluftpistole, auf einem Heizkörper oder in der Nähe einer Flamme, denn Hitze zerstört Polyester — und wird trocken wieder eingesetzt. Passgenauigkeit & Kompatibilität
Gefertigt für den Luftfilterkasten der Aprilia Shiver 750, gebaut von 2007 bis 2017. Insgesamt sechs Aprilia-Maschinen nehmen dieses Element auf — die Shiver 750 und die Shiver GT, die Dorsoduro 750 und die Dorsoduro Factory sowie die späteren 900er-Versionen beider Modelle — jede mit ihren Modelljahren im Fitment-Tab gelistet.
