Für diesen Luftfilterkasten sind drei Sprint-Filter-Medien gelistet. Zwei davon, der Standard-P08 und der feinere P14, decken alle drei Maschinen ab, die sich das Gehäuse teilen: die KTM 790 Duke und die beiden Husqvarna-801-Modelle. Das dritte, PM283S F1-85, ist nur für eine einzige Maschine gelistet, die 790 Duke. Nicht, weil die Husqvarnas ein anderes Gehäuse hätten – haben sie nicht. Es ist eine Listungsentscheidung, und eine Fitment-Liste sagt aus, was ein Hersteller zu katalogisieren beschlossen hat, nicht, welches Motorrad welches Gewebe verdient.

Ein Renngewebe, das mehr zurückhält als das Standardgewebe
Der F1-85 ist das durchflussstärkste Gewebe der Baureihe und, im eigenen Vergleich von Sprint Filter, dasjenige mit dem höchsten Rückhaltevermögen: 95,22 % bei 100-Mikron-Partikeln gegenüber 93,13 % beim Standard-P08, bei vierlagiger geölter Baumwolle im selben Test 76,42 %. Beide Werte gelten gleichzeitig, und es gibt keinen Widerspruch zu erklären: Die 85 im Namen ist keine Porengröße. Wofür das Gewebe eindeutig gebaut ist, ist der Durchfluss: 15.000 Liter pro Quadratmeter und Sekunde gegenüber 5.050 beim P08 – ungefähr dreimal so viel durch einen Quadratmeter sauberes Material. Der Durchfluss steigt um den Faktor drei, die Rückhaltung bei 100 Mikron ebenfalls leicht – eine Kombination, die deutlich sagt, für wen dieses Gewebe entworfen wurde.
Ob eine überwiegend straßengefahrene 790 Duke ihn braucht
Meistens nein, und der Grund ist Rechenarbeit, nicht Vorsicht. Die Durchflussrate zahlt sich nur aus, wenn der Motor alles verlangt, was er bekommen kann, und das lange genug hält, damit es zählt, und bei einem Naked-Bike der Mittelklasse auf öffentlichen Straßen sind das nur wenige Sekunden. Preis und Kontrollrhythmus dagegen gelten jede Minute, in der der Motor läuft. Fährt das Motorrad regelmäßig Trackdays, besteht das Argument. Andernfalls ist der Standard-P08 die bessere Spezifikation. So oder so macht kein Element in einem unveränderten Luftfilterkasten eine Standard-790-Duke spürbar schneller; ein trockenes Medium bietet lediglich einen Widerstand, der zurückgesetzt statt ersetzt werden kann.
Pflege und Reinigung
Druckluft von der sauberen Seite durch das Element leiten und von innen nach außen arbeiten – ein trockenes Gewebe gibt seine Beladung bereitwillig an die Luft ab, was mit ein Grund dafür ist, dass diese Spezifikation zwischen den Einsätzen praktikabel bleibt. Wasser und ein mildes Reinigungsmittel, wenn Luft allein nicht ausreicht, danach klar spülen. Ausschließlich an der Luft trocknen, niemals mit Hitze oder Flamme, und trocken wieder einbauen. Passform & Kompatibilität
Für die KTM 790 Duke, gebaut zwischen 2022 und 2026 – die einzige Maschine, für die dieser Code gelistet ist; der Fitment-Tab bestätigt dies. Derselbe Luftfilterkasten bei den Husqvarna-801-Modellen wird stattdessen vom Standard- und vom Staub-Medium bedient. Eine 790 Duke aus dem Baujahr 2018–2020 benötigt einen anderen Code, prüfen Sie daher das Baujahr.
