Sprint Filter fertigt fünf Medien. Drei davon sind für die Airbox der CB1000R katalogisiert: der Standard-P08, der feine P14 und dieses Renn-Gewebe. Der wasserabweisende P037 ist für dieses Gehäuse nicht gelistet, ebenso wenig der für extreme Bedingungen geschriebene T12. Übrig bleibt eine einzige Linie, die von fein und langsam bis durchflussstark und schnell reicht, und dieses Element sitzt an einem ihrer Enden. Am Ende einer Linie zu stehen ist etwas anderes, als oben auf einer Leiter zu stehen.

Eine Dimension, drei Positionen
Liest man die drei Angebote als eine Linie, fällt die Entscheidung leichter. Vor allem der Durchfluss bewegt sich: 1.800 Liter beim 14-µm-P14 an einem Ende, 5.050 beim 80-µm-P08 in der Mitte, 15.000 hier – wo die 85 zum Namen gehört und keine Porengröße ist. Der veröffentlichte Rückhaltevergleich ist eine gesonderte Angelegenheit und wird bei 100 Mikron gemessen, wo dieses Gewebe geringfügig höher liegt als das Standardelement. Dieser Test sagt nichts über das feine Ende des Spektrums aus, genau dort, wo eine 14-µm-Matte arbeiten soll — die beiden Werte beantworten also unterschiedliche Fragen, und keiner ordnet die Medien eindeutig.
Was ein Renngewebe von Ihnen verlangt
Ein Wartungsrhythmus wie im Rennsport ist eine kleine Gewohnheit und eine dauerhafte Verpflichtung. Sie gilt für jede Betriebsstunde des Motors, an einer Maschine, die durchaus ein Jahrzehnt lang gefahren werden kann, und sie ist der Preis für Durchflusskapazität, die ein serienmäßiges Naked-Litermotorrad gar nicht abrufen kann: Ein Einsatzfilter macht ein Serienmotorrad nicht spürbar stärker, und der PM203S F1-85 lässt eine CB1000R genauso schnell, wie sie war. Der Kauf ist sinnvoll, wenn das Motorrad regelmäßig auf der Rennstrecke bewegt wird und das Element zwischen den Ausfahrten kontrolliert wird. Für alles andere ist bei diesem Gehäuse der Standard-P08 die bessere Wahl.
Pflege und Reinigung
Die Wartung ist schnell erledigt und besteht ausschließlich im Entfernen von Ablagerungen. Druckluft an der sauberen Seite, nach außen geführt, stellt eine gleichmäßige Farbe des Gewebes wieder her; hartnäckiger Straßenfilm löst sich in warmem Wasser mit mildem Spülmittel, gespült, bis das Wasser klar abläuft. Getrocknet wird an offener Luft und nie mit Hitze, denn ein Heißluftgebläse oder Heizkörper verformt das Material, und ein verformtes Element dichtet danach dauerhaft schlecht ab. Er wird trocken wieder eingebaut, ohne dass etwas aufgesprüht wird. Das Pflegeblatt zu diesem Element liegt im Reiter Downloads.
Passgenauigkeit & Kompatibilität
Gelistet für die Honda CB1000R der Modelljahre 2018 bis 2026, ein einzelnes Motorrad ohne Schwestermodell, das sich das Teil teilt. Die beiden anderen Positionen auf der Linie, der Standard-P08 und der feine P14, sind für dasselbe Gehäuse katalogisiert und werden auf die gleiche Weise getauscht.
