Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Ducati Hypermotard 939 (2016–2018) CM61S

The 939 is what the Hypermotard became when Euro 4 arrived: 937 cc instead of 821, more torque low down, and an engine tuned to meet a stricter standard without losing its temper. Emissions work always tightens both ends of an engine, and it is worth knowing what that implies for service parts. The closer a manufacturer has had to run to a limit, the less slack there is for a filter that has quietly loaded up. The Sprint Filter P08 CM61S holds the intake at the restriction Ducati designed for, with roughly double the filtering surface of other performance filters.

Holding the baseline is the whole job

A drop-in filter will not rewrite the dyno chart on a modern Ducati twin, and any product promising that is selling something else. What this one does is prevent the slow drift: as a paper element loads, the pressure drop rises, the engine management meters fuel to the reduced airflow, and the bike gradually becomes less willing without anything appearing to be wrong. Starting lower and staying there is worth more than a claimed peak figure ever was.

Cleaned, not consumed

Compressed air at most services, water when a hard season has earned it, back in dry. Sprint Filter designs the P08 to last the life of the motorcycle, so the air filter appears once on a service invoice and never again.

Care and cleaning

Compressed air from the clean side outwards. For a deeper clean, wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinse until the water runs clear, and dry fully in air — never with heat, never with a flame. Refit dry; no oiling step. Sprint Filter's maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
