Als Maß nennt Öhlins Dimension A 49 mm, Dimension B 2.5 mm. Auch eine einfache Scheibe hat eine eigene Nummer, weil ihre Dicke Teil der Abstimmung ist. Die Härte einer Schraube steht auf dem Kopf und ist kein Zufall.

Ist die Nummer bekannt, ist die Zuordnung eindeutig — anders als bei der Beschreibung allein. Eine korrekt bestückte Überholung stellt das Ansprechverhalten wieder her, das ein müder Dämpfer verloren hat.
