Funktion
Als Maß nennt Öhlins Innendurchmesser 32 mm, Schnurstärke 1.9 mm. Die Dichtung hält das Öl im System und den Schmutz draußen. An Verstellern sitzen O-Ringe an beweglichen Stellen und verschleißen dort schneller. Eine gealterte Dichtung wird hart und verliert die Vorspannung an der Lippe.

Sie können die Nummer auch mit der Rechnung der letzten Wartung abgleichen.
Sie ist das Teil, das bei einer Überholung am häufigsten getauscht wird. Eine korrekt bestückte Überholung stellt das Ansprechverhalten wieder her, das ein müder Dämpfer verloren hat. Öhlins hält Positionen oft über Modellgenerationen hinweg gleich, tauscht aber ohne Ankündigung Werkstoffe. O-Ringe werden über den Innendurchmesser und die Schnurstärke bestimmt, nicht über den Außendurchmesser. Ein überholtes Federbein arbeitet wieder mit der Dämpfung, die im Datenblatt steht — vorausgesetzt, die Teile stimmen.
Die richtige Nummer finden
Nummer 04722-47 und Maß gehören zusammen; weicht eines ab, ist es die falsche Position. Die Nut gibt die Verpressung vor; zu wenig dichtet nicht, zu viel zerstört den Ring.
