Die Einheit ist nur so gut wie ihre kleinste Passung; deshalb lohnt sich das Originalteil auch an unscheinbarer Stelle. Bestellt wird über die Artikelnummer. Die Maße darunter sind die, die Öhlins selbst veröffentlicht. Öhlins fertigt Serviceteile in denselben Toleranzen wie die Erstausrüstung; ein Nachbau trifft die Passung selten. Bei größeren Überholungen prüfen wir vorab, welche Positionen zusammengehören. O-Ringe werden über den Innendurchmesser und die Schnurstärke bestimmt, nicht über den Außendurchmesser. Wer die Einheit selbst zerlegt, sollte die Nummern vor dem Ausbau notieren; hinterher sind sie schwer zu lesen.
