Technik und Verarbeitungsqualität
Der DDS Pro basiert auf der ByPass-Ventil-Technologie von K-Tech – einem Kreislauf, der parallel zum Hauptdämpfungssystem arbeitet und das Verhalten des Stoßdämpfers bei den anfänglichen, kleinamplitudigen Kolbenstangenbewegungen steuert, wie sie bei Bremsstabilität, Balance in Kurvenmitte und Antriebstraktion auftreten. Während ein konventioneller Dämpfer entweder für Fahrbahnunebenheiten zu hart oder für die Kontrolle der Gewichtsverlagerung zu weich wirken kann, löst das BPV diesen Zielkonflikt mit einer eigenen 16-Klick-Verstellung, die vollständig unabhängig vom Hauptdruckstufenkreislauf arbeitet. Alle tragenden Strukturkomponenten werden aus hochwertigem Aluminium und Stahl nach den eigenen Toleranzvorgaben von K-Tech CNC-gefräst – mit denselben Verfahren, die auch bei den Einheiten für Teams der World Superbike und British Superbike zum Einsatz kommen. Der 35-mm-Korpusdurchmesser und der 12-mm-Kolbenstangendurchmesser sind auf das Belastungsprofil des Hinterrad-Umlenkhebelsystems der YZF-R1/M ausgelegt. Mit 318 mm Einbaulänge (Auge-zu-Auge) und 62 mm Federweg ist die Einheit als passgenauer Ersatz für die Chassiscodes RN32, RN49 und RN65 konstruiert.
Performance auf Straße und Rennstrecke
Die fünf Einstellkreise des DDS Pro arbeiten zusammen und ermöglichen eine Abstimmungspräzision, die mit einer Serieneinheit oder einem Einstiegs-Nachrüstprodukt schlicht nicht zu erreichen ist. Druck- und Zugstufe bieten jeweils 32 einzeln einrastende Klicks – weit mehr, als die meisten Stoßdämpfer bieten – sodass kleine Änderungen stets konsistent und leicht rückgängig zu machen sind. Der BPV-Kreis fügt eine dritte Dämpfungsebene hinzu, die das Chassis über die kleinen Unebenheiten und Belagswechsel, denen Fahrer in jeder Runde begegnen, satt am Boden und rückmeldefreudig hält. Die hydraulische Vorspannung erlaubt Federratenänderungen in Sekunden statt Minuten, und die Höhenverstellung rundet die Geometrieabstimmung ab, ohne dass ein separates Werkzeugset nötig wäre.
