Wichtige Eigenschaften
- Das Rückschlagventil verhindert, dass Öl zwischen den Fahrten aus dem Filter abläuft, beugt Trockenstarts vor und schützt die Lager vom allerersten Zündmoment an.
- Das verbesserte Überdruckventil hält den Öldruck unter hoher Last stabil und schützt innere Motorkomponenten vor Druckspitzen.

Der Ansatz von K&N beim KN-650 geht über einen simplen Original-Ersatz hinaus. Das Gehäuse wird mit engeren Toleranzen gefertigt als viele Serienalternativen, und das interne Bypassventil ist so kalibriert, dass es nur dann öffnet, wenn es wirklich nötig ist – damit das Öl maximal sauber durch das Filtermedium geleitet wird. Das Rückschlagventil hält Restöl im Filtergehäuse zurück, wenn der Motor abgestellt wird, sodass beim nächsten Kaltstart sofort kritischer Öldruck zur Verfügung steht – ein Detail, das bei einem hochverdichteten 1190-ccm-Twin enorm wichtig ist.

Das moderne synthetische Filtermedium im Herzen des KN-650 ist darauf ausgelegt, Partikel effizient einzufangen und dabei eine hohe Durchflussrate über den gesamten Betriebstemperaturbereich des RC8-Motors aufrechtzuerhalten. Anders als zellulosebasierte Medien, die bei Kontakt mit aggressiven synthetischen Ölen oder Rennkraftstoffen zerfallen können, bleibt das Medium von K&N stabil und wirksam – die sinnvolle langfristige Wahl für Fahrer, die Premium- oder Wettbewerbsschmierstoffe verwenden.
