Zwei Motorräder, ein Stromkreis
Suzuki hat die DL1000 2014 komplett ersetzt — neuer Rahmen, neues Blech, neue Elektronik — und die Seitenständer-Verriegelung genau so gelassen, wie sie war. Über eine so lange Bauzeit ist das ungewöhnlich, und es bedeutet, dass ein für ein 2003er Motorrad gekauftes Teil auf ein 2019er passt. Gut zu wissen, wenn der Modellname allein so viel Veränderung überspannt.
Meist als Reparatur gekauft
Sehr wenige V-Stroms werden für die Rennstrecke ausgezogen. Der Schalter sitzt am tiefsten Punkt des Motorrads, im Weg von allem, was das Vorderrad hochwirft, und an einer Maschine, die achtzehn Winter gefahren ist, korrodieren die Kontakte irgendwann. Das Ergebnis ist ein Motor, der dreht und nicht zündet, meist weit weg von zuhause.
Wissen, worauf Sie verzichten
An einer V-Strom, die ihren Ständer behält, und das tun fast alle, verhindert die Verriegelung das Losfahren mit ausgeklapptem Ständer. Den Kreis zu überbrücken heißt, dass das Motorrad trotzdem startet und losfährt. Als Reparatur zum Heimkommen ist das ein fairer Handel; als dauerhafte Lösung an einem Reisemotorrad eine Entscheidung, die man bewusst trifft.
