Die zweite Generation der DL1000 V-Strom trug einen 1037-cm³-V2, den Besitzer weit höher einschätzen, als die Verkaufszahlen vermuten lassen. Drei Modelljahre sind eine kurze Bauzeit, und wer eine gekauft hat, behält sie meist und schraubt selbst. Der JP ES 007 erledigt das Sekundärluft-Magnetventil.

Ein V2 macht es schwieriger
An einem Reihenvierzylinder sitzen die Membranventilgehäuse in einer Reihe oben auf einem Kopf. An einem 90-Grad-V2 gibt es zwei Köpfe im rechten Winkel zueinander, und der hintere liegt hinter der Airbox und unter dem Tank. Das ist die Arbeit hier, und sie verdient eine ehrliche Einschätzung, bevor man anfängt.
Woher das Geräusch kommt
V2 sind im Schiebebetrieb ohnehin laut, und wer einen Zubehör-Endtopf montiert, hält das folgende Knattern oft für den Auspuff. Ein guter Teil davon ist Frischluft, die in einen heißen Auslasskanal gedrückt wird und dort Kraftstoff entzündet, den der Brennraum nicht zu Ende verbrannt hat. Zu wissen, welche Hälfte welche ist, entscheidet darüber, ob der Ausbau bringt, was Sie wollten.
Der Motor, über den niemand spricht
Suzuki hat diesen V2 für 2014 auf 1037 cm³ vergrößert und ihm Traktionskontrolle und Anti-Hopping-Kupplung gegeben, und er bleibt einer der fähigeren Motoren der Klasse. Er ist auch einer der am wenigsten besprochenen, weshalb Arbeiten an diesen Motorrädern eher von Besitzern gemacht als in einer Zeitschrift beschrieben werden.
