DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Super Duke GT with a shortened throttle takes the JP PDQ KT016 for its right-hand controls, machined from solid.
Key Features
- KTM 1290 Super Duke GT (2022–2024)
- For quick-action throttle installations
- Titanium anodised Ergal 7075
- CNC-machined from solid
- Military-specification switch elements
- Pre-wired for the original connector
A Super Duke With Luggage
KTM took the 1290's engine and chassis, added a fairing, an adjustable screen, panniers and a longer wheelbase, and produced a sport tourer that will embarrass most sports bikes. It is the least sensible practical motorcycle on sale and it is very good.
Distance and Aggression Together
The GT is bought by riders who want to cross a country quickly rather than comfortably, and the throttle is worked accordingly. A shorter action reduces the wrist movement between overtakes on a road that keeps demanding them.
The Assembly Comes Off Complete
The right-hand switch block is part of the throttle housing. Once a quick tube is fitted, the starter and kill controls need an independent mounting, and improvising one on a touring bike a long way from home is a poor idea.
Positioned Over a Long Day
On a machine ridden for hours at a stretch, where the switch sits is a comfort question. A bar-mounted unit can be slid and rotated to where the thumb rests when the wrist is relaxed rather than where the throttle tube happens to finish.
Cruise Control Stays
Only the throttle-side controls move. Cruise control, the heated grips and the riding modes are all reached from the left cluster and continue to function exactly as before, with no fault code and no dealer visit.
Sealed for Weather
Military-specification contacts inside a one-piece machined body. A GT is used when the forecast is poor, and the sealing is what determines whether the controls behave identically at the end of a wet week.
Titanium
One finish, converted into the surface. On a cockpit carrying a large display, a screen adjuster and often a navigation mount, it stays out of the way while remaining clearly deliberate.
