Dieses Paneel verbringt sein Leben dort, wo niemand hinsieht: unter dem Heck, über dem Schalldämpfer, zwischen der Abgasanlage und dem, was der Besitzer unter dem Sitz aufzubewahren beschlossen hat. Seine Aufgabe ist es, Wärme daran zu hindern, dort anzukommen, wo sie nicht erwünscht ist – an einem Motorrad mit Vierzylinder und kurzem Abgasweg ist das echte Arbeit und keine Dekoration.

Das Teil, das zuerst altert
Kunststoff an dieser Stelle bricht nicht – er wird spröde, verfärbt sich und reißt irgendwann rund um die eigenen Befestigungspunkte. Besitzer entdecken das meist, wenn das Heck aus einem anderen Grund herunterkommt. Ein ausgehärtetes Epoxidlaminat erweicht nicht auf dieselbe Weise, und das ist der ehrliche praktische Grund für den Tausch – nicht irgendeine Behauptung über Isolierung.
Was es nicht leistet: eine warme Sitzbank kalt zu machen. Wärme erreicht den Fahrer auch über die Sitzbasis und den Rahmen, und kein einzelnes Teil ändert das allein.
Passend für
BMW S1000R, Modelljahre 2013 bis 2020, an den Originalaufnahmen. Fullsix führt denselben Artikel für die S1000RR von 2015 bis 2018, die dieselbe Heckstruktur und Abgasführung hat. Die Maschine ab 2021 ist nicht abgedeckt.

Ausführung, obwohl Sie es nicht sehen werden
Das ist das eine Paneel im Programm, bei dem die Wahl der Ausführung wirklich frei ist. Verschraubt sieht man nur die Kanten, und auch das nur bei abgenommener Sitzbank. Matt ist minimal die bessere Wahl, weil es die Handhabungsspuren von der einen Gelegenheit im Jahr verbirgt, bei der man es anfasst; Klarlack lässt sich leichter von dem feinen Staub befreien, der sich unter einer Heckeinheit sammelt.
