Sie nehmen die Last auf, wenn man sich beim Bremsen am Tank abstützt, und sie sind die Paneele, an denen beim Rangieren in der Garage am ehesten ein Stiefelabsatz hängen bleibt.

Paneele, die man tatsächlich berührt
Die meiste Verkleidung ist nur in dem Sinn tragend, dass sie ihre eigene Form hält. Diese beiden sind anders: Sie sind Kontaktfläche für den Fahrer, und ein Paneel, das unter dem Knie nachgibt, verändert – auf kleine, aber spürbare Weise –, wie satt sich das Motorrad beim harten Bremsen anfühlt.
Ein ausgehärtetes Laminat ist bei gleicher Wandstärke steifer als das gespritzte Original. Das ist die eine Stelle an diesem Motorrad, an der Carbon etwas tut, das ein Fahrer fühlen und nicht nur sehen kann. Der Effekt ist klein, und ihn größer zu verkaufen wäre unredlich – aber er ist real.
Passend für
Ducati Streetfighter V4, Modelljahre 2020 bis 2022. Die Überarbeitung 2023 hat diese Paneele verändert, für 2023-2024 gibt es einen eigenen Artikel.

Die Ausführung dort, wo das Knie greift
Textilhose auf Lack ist genau die Kombination, die über eine Saison feine Kratzer erzeugt, und Klarlack zeigt sie als erster. Hier braucht eine schöne Oberfläche Pflege, um schön zu bleiben.
Matt ist die praktische Antwort und verbirgt sowohl Kratzer als auch Staub. Twill in Roh ist die Wahl für ein hart bewegtes Motorrad, weil das gröbere Gewebe dem Knie etwas mehr Halt gibt als eine glatte lackierte Fläche und es keine Beschichtung gibt, die durchgescheuert werden könnte. Satin bleibt der Kompromiss für alle, die Tiefe ohne ständige Pflege wollen.
