Diese Abdeckung sammelt weggeschleudertes Kettenfett schneller als alles andere am Motorrad, und an einem Naked Bike sieht jeder das Ergebnis. Matt und Raw kaschieren den Film; eine klarlackierte Abdeckung zeigt ihn wenige hundert Kilometer nach einer frischen Schmierung.
Sie kommt außerdem öfter ab als jedes andere Carbonteil hier, denn jeder Ritzelwechsel und jeder Wellendichtring geht durch sie hindurch. Ihre Schrauben greifen in Aluminium, also nach Handbuchwert anziehen statt nach Gefühl.
Hinter der Abdeckung wird beim Tausch nichts angerührt: Kettenrad, Kette und Wellendichtring bleiben genau so, wie sie sind.
Die Arbeit dauert auf dem Ständer wenige Minuten und braucht kein Sonderwerkzeug. Für jemanden, der zum ersten Mal Carbon an sein Motorrad schraubt, ist das ein guter Anfang.
