Gebaut für lange Strecken
Die Außenschale wird aus perforiertem Polypropylen in einem bewusst gewählten Wellenmuster geformt – eine Geometrie, die aus zwei Gründen gewählt wurde. Strukturell versteifen die Wellungen die Fläche, ohne zusätzliches Gewicht hinzuzufügen. Aerodynamisch erzeugen die Perforationen einen Kanaleffekt, der auch bei moderatem Tempo warme Luft vom Rücken abführt. Darunter verleiht die Aluminium-Wabenstruktur dem Crash Absorb®-Schaumstoff ein starres Gitter, gegen das er arbeiten kann, sodass die kinetische Energie eines Aufpralls seitlich über die Fläche verteilt wird, statt als konzentrierte Spitzenbelastung auf die Wirbelsäule übertragen zu werden.
Das Innenfutter besteht aus feinem Polyester-Mesh, wie es auch in performanceorientierter Sportbekleidung verwendet wird, und wurde gezielt ausgewählt, weil es schnell trocknet und keine Wärme an der Haut staut. Lenden- und Schulterriemen sind aus doppellagigem Jersey-Stoff genäht – weich genug, um einen ganzen Tag lang direkt auf einem Base-Layer getragen zu werden, ohne zu scheuern.

Der doppelt verstellbare Lendenriemen erlaubt es, Höhe und Spannung unabhängig voneinander einzustellen, sodass der Protektor zentriert auf Ihrer Wirbelsäule sitzt – egal, ob Sie aufrecht auf einer Tourenmaschine sitzen oder auf einem Sportbike geduckt fahren. Die abnehmbaren Schulterriemen sorgen bei Bedarf für zusätzlichen Halt; nehmen Sie sie komplett ab für ein schlankeres, leichteres Tragegefühl, wenn der Rückhalt der Jacke bereits ausreicht.
