Die technische Abnahme drückt darauf
Der Bugspoiler existiert, um Motoröl zurückzuhalten, und ein Auffangvolumen fängt nur auf, solange es am Motorrad ist. Ein Kommissar legt die Hand auf den Spoiler und drückt, und einer, der nachgibt, ist ein Gespräch, das niemand am Samstagvormittag führen will. Die Verschraubung der Halter gehört zur Sicherheitsausrüstung: mit dem Reifendruck prüfen, nicht mit der Jahresinspektion.
Spät bestellt, zuerst gebraucht
Halter sind die Zeile, die bei einer ersten Bestellung fehlt, weil man an die Verkleidungsteile denkt. Es ist zugleich die Zeile, die einen Aufbau stoppt: Ohne sie geht der Bugspoiler nicht dran, und ohne Bugspoiler kommt das Motorrad nicht durch die Abnahme. Die Bestellung vor dem Absenden gegen die Teileliste prüfen, nicht nach der Lieferung.
Den Abstand einstellen
Wo diese Halter sitzen, entscheidet, wie nah der Spoiler an den Krümmern läuft. Zu tief, und er setzt an einem Randstein auf; zu nah, und das Laminat nimmt die ganze Sitzung Strahlungswärme vom Sammler auf. Bei kaltem Motor und mit dem Motorrad auf den Rädern einstellen — auf dem Montageständer ist das Fahrwerk ausgefedert, und der Abstand wird spürbar kleiner, sobald die Maschine ihr Gewicht trägt.
