Sturzbügel aus Titan mit deutscher ABE. Beide Hälften dieses Satzes sind ungewöhnlich: Schutzbügel sind fast immer aus Stahl, und Zubehörbügel kommen fast nie mit einer Allgemeinen Betriebserlaubnis. Dieser Satz ist Akrapovics erstes Produkt dieser Art, und er hat beides.

Die Adventure passt — und das zählt
Akrapovic gibt an, dass dieser untere Satz auch an die R 1250 GS Adventure passt. Das sollte man genau lesen, denn der obere Satz derselben Reihe passt dort nicht — die beiden Bügel haben entgegengesetzte Verträglichkeit, und wer für eine Adventure beide bestellt, bekommt ein Teil, das sich nicht montieren lässt.

Warum Titan an einem Sturzbügel
Ein Schutzbügel verbringt sein Leben damit, nichts zu tun — bis zu dem einen Moment, in dem er alles tut. Stahl ist der naheliegende Werkstoff und er funktioniert. Titan leistet dasselbe bei rund 60 Prozent der Masse und rostet nicht dort, wo Steinschlag die Pulverbeschichtung abschlägt.
An einer GS, die für eine lange Reise bis an die Grenze beladen ist, sind anderthalb Kilogramm weniger anderthalb Kilogramm Gepäck mehr. Und die Bügel sitzen tief und weit außen, also genau dort, wo ein hohes Motorrad Gewicht am wenigsten gebrauchen kann.
Was die ABE hier bedeutet
Eine Allgemeine Betriebserlaubnis wird für den deutschen Markt erteilt. Mit ihr darf das Teil montiert und gefahren werden, ohne Einzelabnahme und ohne Eintrag in die Fahrzeugpapiere.
Die meisten Auspuffteile dieses Katalogs tragen stattdessen eine EG- oder ECE-Typgenehmigung, und das ist ein anderes Instrument. Dieser Satz hat tatsächlich die ABE, und Akrapovic führt ihn auch so.
Acht Millimeter Flansch
Die Befestigungsflansche sind aus 8-mm-Blech lasergeschnitten und anschließend bearbeitet. Diese Dicke entscheidet darüber, ob die Bügel einen Aufprall in den Rahmen einleiten oder aus ihm herausreißen.
Akrapovic gibt an, dass die Konstruktion teilweise am Fahrgestell befestigt ist, damit ein Aufprall über die Bügel verteilt und nicht an einem Punkt gebündelt wird, und dass die Auslegung in zahlreichen Versuchen und Verformungsanalysen geprüft wurde.
Keine Schräglage verloren
Manche Schutzbügel bauen so weit nach außen, dass sie vor den Fußrasten aufsetzen. Akrapovic gibt für diesen Satz keine Einschränkung der Schräglagenfreiheit an — eine zügig über eine Passstraße gefahrene GS wird also nicht von dem Teil begrenzt, das sie schützen soll.
Etwas zum Anschrauben
An den Bügeln lassen sich Zusatztaschen und Nebel- oder Zusatzscheinwerfer befestigen. An einem Reisemotorrad ist das der halbe Grund, überhaupt einen Käfig zu montieren — ein Sturzbügel ist die einzige feste Struktur vor dem Tank, die einen Scheinwerfer trägt.

Sechzig Minuten Werkstattzeit. Die Flansche werden an vorhandene Rahmenpunkte geschraubt, gebohrt werden muss also nichts — aber die Drehmomente an Rahmenschrauben zählen hier mehr als sonst. Lassen Sie es fachgerecht machen.
