Warum das Serienteil so schwer ist
Kawasaki hat der Z1000 einen Dämpfer mit zwei Austritten und eingebautem Sammlerkasten gegeben, sitzend unter dem Heck. Alles, was die Euro-4-Regeln verlangten, ist in diese eine Einheit gewandert — und 7,4 kg sind der Preis dafür.
Der Akrapovic-Ersatz leistet keine Abgasarbeit, deshalb wiegt er ein Kilogramm und deshalb trägt er keine Zulassung. Beide Tatsachen sind dieselbe Tatsache.
Zwei sehr verschiedene Motorräder
Die Z1000 ist ein nackter Roadster mit kantiger Gestaltung und ohne Windschutz. Die Z1000SX — in manchen Märkten als Ninja 1000 verkauft — ist ein verkleideter Sporttourer mit Gepäckaufnahmen und Scheibe. Sie teilen sich diesen Dämpfer von 2014 bis 2020.
An einer SX, die auf Reisen geht, wiegt die fehlende Zulassung schwerer als an einer Z1000, die zu Trainingstagen gefahren wird. Das gehört vor der Bestellung abgewogen.
Sechs Kilogramm hinter der Achse
Der Dämpfer sitzt unter dem Heck, hinter der Hinterradachse. Masse in dieser Lage widersteht Richtungswechseln stärker als dasselbe Gewicht irgendwo sonst am Motorrad — 6,4 kg von dort sind also erheblich mehr wert, als die Zahl allein vermuten lässt.
Ein Einsatz im Lieferumfang
Ein herausnehmbarer dB-Einsatz wird mitgeliefert. Eingesetzt ist die Anlage deutlich leiser — nützlich auf einer Strecke mit Standgeräuschmessung. Herausgenommen ist sie am lautesten. Straßenlegal ist keiner der beiden Zustände.
Eine ältere Kawasaki
Die Z1000 und Z1000SX dieser Jahre sind heute Gebrauchtmotorräder jenseits ihres steilsten Wertverlusts. Das verändert die Rechnung bei einem reinen Streckendämpfer: Es steht weniger Wiederverkaufswert auf dem Spiel, und die Maschinen sehen eher eine Rennstrecke als einen Ausstellungsraum.
Das Kürzel SM
Die meisten Akrapovic-Slip-Ons tragen eine Artikelnummer mit S-. Diese beginnt mit SM-, was sie als Dämpfer ohne den Verbindungsrohrabschnitt kennzeichnet, den manche Anlagen mitbringen. Sie schließt direkt an Kawasakis Serien-Mittelrohr an.
Sieben Modelljahre
Kawasaki hat Z1000 und Z1000SX von 2014 bis 2020 mit dieser Dämpferaufnahme gebaut, über eine Modellpflege hinweg, die die Verkleidung geändert hat und das Heckteil nicht. Ein Dämpfer deckt die gesamte Bauzeit beider Maschinen ab.
Titan, nicht Carbon
Der ganze Dämpfer ist aus Titan, ohne Carbon-Endkappe. An einem Teil, das unter dem Heck sitzt und die Gischt des Hinterrads abbekommt, ist das die haltbarere Antwort — und daher kommt das eine Kilogramm.

Keine. Dieses Produkt erfüllt die Abgasvorschriften für den Straßenverkehr nicht.
