Drehmoment bei fünftausend
3,5 Nm mehr bei 5.360/min. An einer Hayabusa ist das genau der Punkt: Diese Maschine ist um gewaltigen Durchzug herum gebaut, wird im höchsten Gang bei Alltagsgeschwindigkeiten gefahren — und ein Zuwachs weit unten ist mehr wert als ein weiteres PS nahe am Begrenzer.
Die Spitze steigt trotzdem, von 179,5 auf 182,9 PS. Beide Zahlen stammen von Akrapovic.
Zehn Kilogramm aus dem Heck
Suzukis zwei Dämpfer sitzen hoch auf beiden Seiten hinter dem Fahrer — die ungünstigste Lage für Masse an einem Motorrad. 9,8 kg von dort zu nehmen bringt für die Handlichkeit einer 266 kg schweren Hayabusa mehr, als die Zahl allein vermuten lässt.
Absolut ist es zudem eine der größten Gewichtsreduktionen dieses Katalogs — und sie kommt aus einem Slip-On und nicht aus einer Komplettanlage.

Die Hayabusa gehört zu den schwersten je gebauten Sportmotorrädern, und Suzuki hat einen großen Teil dieses Gewichts in die Abgasanlage gelegt. Knapp zehn Kilogramm aus einer Anlage sind ein Anteil am Gesamtgewicht, an den wenige andere Maßnahmen heranreichen.
Carbon über zehn Jahre
Eine Carbonhülle an einem so schweren Motorrad geht weniger um das Gewicht des Werkstoffs als um seine Beständigkeit: Carbon korrodiert nicht, und an einer über ein Jahrzehnt gehaltenen Hayabusa zeigt sich das, wo es sich bei Stahl nicht zeigen würde.
Zehn Modelljahre
Suzuki hat die zweite Hayabusa-Generation von 2008 bis 2017 ohne Änderung der Dämpferaufnahme gebaut. Eine Artikelnummer deckt die gesamte Bauzeit ab — bei einer so häufig gebraucht gekauften Maschine wirklich nützlich.
Zulassung
Akrapovic führt für diese Anlage eine EG-Typgenehmigung, dazu die EPA-Bescheinigung für die USA. Eine gesonderte ECE-Genehmigung ist nicht verzeichnet.

Die zweite Hayabusa-Generation
Suzuki hat diese Fassung von 2008 bis 2017 gebaut, vor der Neuauflage 2021. Diese Maschinen sind heute Gebrauchtfahrzeuge, oft sorgsam gehalten — und ein straßenlegales Carbondämpferpaar passt zu einem Halter, der sie fährt statt sie einzulagern.
