Honda verkauft zwei Africa Twins, und Akrapovic baut zwei Krümmer — denn die Adventure Sports ist nicht einfach die höhere Fassung der normalen Maschine. Größerer Tank, mehr Federweg, ein anderer Heckrahmen und eine andere Abgasführung. Das hier ist die Nummer, die an sie passt.

Warum die Adventure Sports eine eigene Nummer braucht
Die beiden Africa Twins teilen sich den Motor und drumherum sehr wenig. Die Adventure Sports trägt 24,8 Liter statt 18,8, einen höheren Heckrahmen und in den meisten Fassungen das elektronische Fahrwerk. Wo der Krümmer zwischen Zylinderkopf und Schwingenachse verläuft, ist an den beiden Maschinen nicht dasselbe.
Den E-H11R1 der normalen Maschine an eine Adventure Sports zu bringen ist keine Frage der Überredung. Es ist das falsche Teil.
Zweihundertachtzig Gramm Unterschied
Dieser Krümmer kommt auf 2,4 kg. Der für die normale Maschine erreicht 2,12. Beide gehen von derselben 4,7-kg-Werksgruppe aus, und der Unterschied liegt in der Rohrlänge: Die Adventure Sports braucht schlicht mehr Stahl für die Strecke.
280 Gramm wird niemand spüren. Sie stehen hier, weil die beiden Artikelnummern im Katalog nebeneinanderliegen und die Werte auseinandergehen — das wirft die Frage auf.
Sieben Modelljahre
Honda baut die CRF1100L Adventure Sports seit 2020 ohne Änderung der Abgasführung, ein Krümmer deckt also die gesamte bisherige Bauzeit ab. Das ist eine für diesen Katalog ungewöhnlich breite Abdeckung und macht die Adventure Sports zu einem unkomplizierten Motorrad beim Einkauf.
Die Geräuschdaten widersprechen sich
Akrapovics Datensatz zu diesem Teil führt 99,7 dB für die Serienanlage und 95 dB mit eingebautem Krümmer, beides bei 3.750/min — also leiser nach dem Ausbau des Katalysators, was physikalisch nicht sein kann.
Der Eintrag zum Krümmer der normalen Maschine, E-H11R1, nennt dieselben zwei Zahlen andersherum: 95 dB serienmäßig, 99,7 mit dem Teil. Das ist mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit die richtige Lesart, und hier sind die Felder vertauscht. Rechnen Sie damit, dass die Adventure Sports lauter wird und nicht leiser, und behandeln Sie den genauen Wert als ungesichert.
Beide Slip-Ons passen
Akrapovic vermerkt, dass sich dieser Krümmer mit beiden Slip-On-Line-Anlagen der Adventure Sports kombinieren lässt — dem früheren S-H11SO2-HGJT und dem heutigen S-H11SO4-HAFT. Das hilft dem Besitzer, der vor Jahren einen Slip-On montiert hat und den Krümmer erst jetzt nachrüstet.
Die Reiseausstattung bleibt nutzbar
Hauptständer und Hondas vorderer Rohrsatz bleiben beide brauchbar. An einem Motorrad, das für lange Strecken gekauft wird, ist das kein Detail — es ist der Unterschied zwischen einem Teil, das zur Maschine passt, und einem, das gegen sie arbeitet.
Neuabstimmung und Kontrollleuchte
Akrapovic empfiehlt die Neuabstimmung des Steuergeräts, schreibt sie aber nicht vor. An Euro-5+-Maschinen geht die Motorkontrollleuchte an, sobald das Steuergerät den fehlenden Katalysator bemerkt; das ist erwartet und kein Defekt.
Zulassung
Überhaupt keine. Akrapovic kennzeichnet das Teil als nicht abgasvorschriftskonform für Straße und Autobahn, und der fehlende Katalysator ist der Grund.
