Ein Satz, kein einzelnes Schild. Die Z1000 dieser Generation trägt links und rechts am Heck je einen Dämpfer mit eigenem Hitzeschild, und diese Artikelnummer deckt beide ab. Eines zu bestellen und eine halbe Garnitur zu bekommen, ist ein vermeidbarer Fehler.

Wofür ein Hitzeschild tatsächlich da ist
Für zwei Dinge, und nur eines davon betrifft den Fahrer. Es hält die heiße Außenfläche des Dämpfers von der Wade eines Sozius und von Gepäckgurten fern, und es hält Strahlungswärme von der Verkleidung dahinter ab.
Carbon leistet beides und wiegt dabei weniger als das gepresste Stahl- oder Aluminiumblech, aus dem ein Werksschild üblicherweise besteht — und es bleibt schwarz, statt das Strohgelb und Blau hitzewechselbelasteten Metalls anzunehmen.
Keine veröffentlichten Werte
Akrapovic nennt zu diesem Teil weder Gewicht noch Dicke noch Temperaturwerte. Die gesamte Beschreibung ist ein Satz: Das Hitzeschild aus Carbon ersetzt das Serienschild.
Das ist dünn, und es lässt sich nicht redlich auffüllen. Auf dieser Seite wird nichts geschätzt. Sicher sind der Werkstoff, die Passung und dass zwei Schilde in der Packung liegen.
Warum man sie kauft
Ehrlich gesagt: weil sie richtig aussehen. An einer Z1000 sitzen die beiden Dämpfer hoch und offen unter dem Heck, und das Schild ist von hinten eines der sichtbarsten Teile des Motorrads.
Ein Carbonschild neben einem Akrapovic-Dämpfer aus Titan oder Carbon macht die Montage rund. Neben einem Serienstahltopf sieht es aus, was es ist — ein gutes Teil an der falschen Anlage.
Gewicht ist eine Fußnote
Carbon ist leichter als das Serienschild, aber ein Schild ist von vornherein ein kleines Blechteil, und niemand wird den Unterschied spüren. Wer Ihnen erzählt, ein Hitzeschild verändere das Fahrverhalten, verkauft etwas.
Carbon gegen Blech
Ein Werks-Hitzeschild besteht meist aus gepresstem Stahl oder Aluminium mit hitzebeständiger Beschichtung. Es funktioniert, und nach ein paar Saisons verfärbt es sich dort, wo der Dämpfer am heißesten wird, und die Beschichtung hebt sich an den Kanten ab.
Gewebtes Carbon in einem Hochtemperaturharz tut das nicht. Es leitet Wärme außerdem weit schlechter als Metall, und das ist der technische Grund, warum ein Carbonschild bei gleicher Größe mehr Hitze vom Bein eines Sozius fernhält als ein metallenes.
Sieben Modelljahre
Kawasaki baute diese Z1000 von 2014 bis 2020 mit durchgehend gleichem Heck und gleicher Doppeldämpfer-Anordnung, ein Satz deckt also die ganze Bauzeit ab. Die Z1000SX derselben Zeit ist ein anderes Motorrad mit anderer Anlage.
Montage
Die Schilde werden an die vorhandenen Aufnahmepunkte an den Dämpfern geschraubt. Keine Änderung, kein Bohren — die Serienschilde kommen ab und diese an ihre Stelle.
Zulassung
Nicht einschlägig. Ein Hitzeschild ist kein Abgas- oder Geräuschbauteil, und es hängt keine Genehmigung daran. Ob das Motorrad straßenlegal ist, entscheidet die Anlage hinter dem Schild.
