Geschmiedetes Carbon, das Akrapovic als Werkstoff und Verfahren beschreibt, das man im Motorradbereich selten sieht. Statt Gewebematten in eine Form zu legen, werden Kurzfasern unter Hitze und Druck verpresst — das Ergebnis ist ein marmoriertes, richtungsloses Muster statt eines Schachbrettgewebes.

Warum geschmiedet statt gewebt
Gewebtes Carbon hat eine Richtung: Die Matte ist entlang der Fasern am festesten und muss geschnitten und der Form folgend gelegt werden. Geschmiedetes Carbon hat überhaupt keine Richtung, was es in Formen pressen lässt, um die eine Gewebematte Falten würde.
Ein Hitzeschild ist genau so eine Form — in zwei Richtungen gewölbt und voller Befestigungsaugen. Und es ist der Grund, warum die Oberfläche eher wie Stein als wie Stoff aussieht — an einer Monster entweder genau der Punkt oder ein Grund, etwas anderes zu wählen.
Sie können das Original behalten
Akrapovic weist darauf hin, dass der Serienschild aus Aluminium neben dem Slip-On weiterverwendet werden kann. Das ist gut zu wissen: Die Anlage verlangt dieses Teil nicht, und ein Halter kann den Dämpfer jetzt montieren und über den Schild später entscheiden.
Es heißt auch, dass das Original in einen Karton gehört und nicht in den Container — für den Tag, an dem das Motorrad verkauft wird.
Zwei Fassungen der Monster
Ducati verkauft die Monster 937 und die schärfere SP mit Öhlins-Fahrwerk und Brembo-Stylema-Bremsen. Beide nehmen diesen Schild über 2021 bis 2025.
Wo er sitzt
Ducati führt den Dämpfer der Monster unter der rechten Heckseite entlang, und der Hitzeschild sitzt zwischen ihm und dem Bein des Sozius. Er ist von hinten und von der Seite zu sehen und vom Sattel aus nicht.

Fünf Modelljahre
Ducati hat die Monster 937 in dieser Form von 2021 bis 2025 gebaut, vor der Überarbeitung 2026. Ein Schild deckt die gesamte Bauzeit ab, in der Standard- wie in der SP-Ausführung.
Selten zu sehen, und warum
Geschmiedetes Carbon ist teuer im Werkzeugbau und verzeiht keine Fehler — die Presse füllt die Form richtig, oder das Teil ist Ausschuss. Deshalb beschreibt Akrapovic das Verfahren als im Motorradbereich selten, und deshalb kostet ein Schild dieser Größe, was er kostet.
Aluminium oder Carbon
Ducatis Originalschild ist aus Aluminium und erfüllt seine Aufgabe einwandfrei. Nichts am Slip-On verlangt seinen Austausch, und wer die schlichtere Optik vorzieht, lässt ihn, wo er ist, und gibt das Geld anderswo aus.
Marmoriert, nicht kariert
Der optische Unterschied ist sofort da. Gewebtes Carbon zeigt ein regelmäßiges Schachbrett, geschmiedetes ein unregelmäßiges marmoriertes Muster, das an jedem Teil anders ausfällt. Keine zwei dieser Schilde sehen völlig gleich aus — entweder der Reiz oder der Einwand.
