Die CB1100EX ist ein Motorrad für gemächliches Fahren, und gemächliches Fahren bedeutet in der Wirklichkeit viel Warten: an Ampeln, an Bahnübergängen, in einer Schlange an Baustellen. Jede dieser Pausen wirft eine alte Frage auf: Kupplung ziehen oder Leerlauf einlegen? Die Antwort fällt leichter, wenn sich der Hebel selbst bequem halten lässt. Accossatos ESH033 ist ein Kupplungshebel für die CB1100EX von 2014 bis 2019, dessen Griffweite sich einstellen lässt und dessen Blatt in drei Längen angeboten wird.

Fertigung und Materialgüte
Eloxiertes Aluminium, auf CNC-Maschinen geformt: Das fasst den ESH033 zusammen. Die Eloxierung teilt sich auf eine schwarze Nabe und ein Blatt in der Farbe Ihrer Wahl auf, und an der Nabe dreht sich der Hebel und wird seine Griffweite eingestellt. Von dort bis zur Spitze ist das Blatt ein durchgehendes, starres Stück. An der CB1100EX, deren Kupplung bei jeder Pause einer entspannten Fahrt bedient wird, bedeutet diese Steifigkeit, dass sich der Hebel gleich anfühlt, ob er zwei Sekunden oder zwei Minuten gehalten wird.
Leerlauf oder Kupplung gezogen?
Fahrlehrer empfehlen meist, im ersten Gang mit gezogener Kupplung zu bleiben, solange Sie das letzte Fahrzeug in der Schlange sind, damit Sie sofort losfahren können, falls sich von hinten etwas nähert. Sobald ein paar Autos hinter Ihnen angehalten haben, oder an einer langen roten Ampel, legen viele Fahrer den Leerlauf ein und entlasten die Hand. Beide Gewohnheiten haben ihren Platz, und beide werden durch einen Hebel erleichtert, der zu Ihnen passt. Eine Kupplung eine ganze Rotphase lang zu halten, ist ermüdend, wenn das Blatt an der Grenze Ihrer Reichweite sitzt, und die Versuchung ist groß, sie langsam herauskommen zu lassen, wodurch die Kupplung schleift und Sie beim Umschalten der Ampel einen Satz machen können. Stellen Sie den ESH033 so ein, dass Sie ihn mit entspannter Hand ganz am Griff halten können, und wählen Sie das lange Blatt, wenn Sie den geringsten Kraftaufwand wollen, denn die zusätzliche Länge bringt Ihre Finger weiter vom Drehpunkt weg. Umgekehrt findet man den Leerlauf an der CB1100EX meist am leichtesten kurz bevor das Motorrad steht, solange es noch leicht rollt.
Passform und Kompatibilität
An der CB1100EX von 2014 bis 2019 ersetzt der ESH033 den Hebel an der originalen Kupplungsaufnahme. Accossatos Liste nennt einen längeren Zeitraum, doch die EX kam mit dem Modelljahr 2014 nach Europa, deshalb beginnt dieses Produkt dort. Accossato nennt denselben Kupplungshebel für die Standard-CB1100 und die RS, und der passende Bremshebel an der EX ist der EDF018. Blätter in Blau, Gold, Grün und Orange werden in allen drei Längen gefertigt, Silber als Standard oder kurz, Schwarz und Rot nur in der Standardlänge.
Straßenzulassung
Für den ESH033 konnte keine deutsche ABE dokumentiert werden. Er wird deshalb für den Einsatz auf der Rennstrecke verkauft.
