Die X Diavel ist Ducatis Flaggschiff im Cruiser-Stil: lang, schwer und am wohlsten bei niedriger Drehzahl statt im hektischen Verkehr. Diese tiefe, breite Haltung hält sie im Fahren stabil, doch ein Motorrad dieser Größe lässt sich kaum noch retten, sobald es zu weit kippt, ob auf dem Parkplatz, am Hang oder bei einem ungeschickten Wendemanöver in einer engen Ausfahrt. Für die X Diavel 1260 und 1260 S von 2016 bis 2018 baut Accossato den PP069, ein Paar schwarzer Achsprotektoren hinten, das genau diesen ersten Stoß abfangen soll.

Fertigung und Materialgüte
Accossato fertigt den PP069 aus Aluminium in Verbindung mit Kunststoff, und beide Protektoren tragen eine schwarze Oberfläche, die sich ruhig in die dunklen Anbauteile der X Diavel einfügt, statt sich abzuheben. Je ein Protektor sitzt auf jeder Seite des hinteren Achsbereichs, nahe der Schwinge, und der Hersteller legt Distanzstücke, Schrauben und alles weitere, was er für die Montage für nötig hält, in denselben Karton. Wie genau das Paar an Schwinge und Achse dieser Ducati ansetzt, ist in den uns vorliegenden Unterlagen nicht angegeben, sodass dieses Detail der Montageanleitung und einer kompetenten Werkstatt vorbehalten bleibt und nicht hier geraten wird.
Gewicht, Balance und Umfaller bei geringer Geschwindigkeit
Die meisten Besitzer einer X Diavel sehen nie einen Trackday, doch viele legen das Motorrad irgendwann aus dem Stand um: beim Rückwärtsschieben aus der Garage, bei Balanceverlust auf einer geneigten Auffahrt oder mit dem Stiefel auf nassem Kopfsteinpflaster vor einem Café. Bei dieser Geschwindigkeit gibt es keinen dramatischen Sturz, nur ein schweres Motorrad, das seitlich umkippt, und das Heck landet dabei genauso oft zuerst wie die Front. Ein Protektorenpaar gibt Schwinge und Achse dort etwas zum Abstützen anstelle des Lacks, was den Schaden verringern kann, auch wenn es niemals verspricht, den Sturz von vornherein zu verhindern.
Passform und Kompatibilität
Der PP069 ist für die X Diavel 1260 und 1260 S von 2016 bis 2018 gebaut; prüfen Sie Ihr genaues Baujahr und Ihre Version vor der Bestellung anhand der aktuellen Anwendungsliste, da sich die Antriebstechnik der X Diavel über ihre Laufzeit mehrfach geändert hat.
