The Diavel is bought for exactly one thing

Presence. It is a 1.158cc V4 in a chassis built around how it looks standing still and how it sounds pulling away, with a 240-section rear tyre that no engineer chose for cornering. Anyone fitting a racing exhaust to a Diavel is not chasing lap times, and there is no sense pretending otherwise — the honest reason is the noise the Granturismo V4 makes when nothing is muffling it.

What the kit contains, and why that matters here

Three things that are normally three purchases: the silencers, the de-cat pipework, and the mapping device with a calibration built for the combination. On the V4 Granturismo the last of those is the one that trips people up. It is not an engine independent tuners keep base maps for, and a dyno session to build one from scratch costs real money.

Where the exhaust sits on this motorcycle

High on the right, under the tail, in full view. The Diavel's whole rear aspect is designed around the silencers, which is why Ducati themselves spent so much effort on the standard ones. Changing them is a visual decision as much as an acoustic one, and it is worth looking at photographs of the fitted result before ordering rather than after.

The cost, stated plainly

The registration. Take the catalyst off and the Diavel becomes a motorcycle that cannot legally be ridden anywhere it would normally be seen — which, for a machine whose purpose is being seen, is a strange trade. Keep the standard parts, and be certain before ordering.
