Die von 2023 bis 2026 gelistete Valico DSX umfasst Modelle, die noch ausgeliefert werden, und deren Besitzer haben noch nichts, das sie gegen ein Fenster halten könnten. Ein Filtermedium wird hier gewählt, bevor der Beleg dafür existiert – das bedeutet, die Wahl anhand der Straßen zu treffen, die Sie fahren wollen, nicht anhand des Teils, das Sie bereits besitzen.

Eine ehrliche Bestandsaufnahme der Straßen
Die nützliche Übung dauert fünf Minuten und gehört vor die Bestellung, nicht danach. Wie viel eines gewöhnlichen Jahres ist unbefestigt – die Strecke zu einem Trailhead, die Schotterstraße, die einen Arbeitsweg abkürzt, die Wochen hinter Ackerfahrzeugen im Spätsommer. Nicht, wozu die Maschine fähig ist, sondern wo sie an gewöhnlichen Wochenenden tatsächlich unterwegs sein wird. Kommt bei dieser Bestandsaufnahme überwiegend Staub heraus, beantwortet der CM251T12 die tatsächlich gestellte Frage. Kommt überwiegend Asphalt heraus, ist der Standard-CM251S das angemessene Teil, und ihn zu wählen ist kein Rückschritt.
Die Rechnung kommt lange vor dem Nutzen
Das ist die unbequeme Form dieses Kaufs. Der Durchfluss wird bei der ersten Ausfahrt aufgegeben: 560 l/m²/sek gegenüber 5.050, etwa ein Neuntel, die größte Stufe der Reihe und der Preis dafür, 7 Mikron zu erreichen. Was das kauft, ist Verschleiß, der über Jahre hinweg nie eintritt, und nichts am Motorrad wird das je bestätigen. Widerstehen Sie daher den beiden Behauptungen, die die Entscheidung leichter erscheinen ließen, als sie ist. Ein Einsatzelement bringt der Leistung einer Standard-Valico-DSX nichts hinzu. Und ein für Ihre Straßen falsches Medium ist in beide Richtungen falsch, von welchem Ende der Reihe es auch kommt.
Pflege und Reinigung
Warten Sie den CM251T12 zuerst mit Druckluft, gerichtet auf seine saubere Seite, damit der Staub nach außen ausgetrieben wird; bei den meisten Intervallen ist das schon die gesamte Arbeit. Sobald Wasser und Grieß gemeinsam durchgegangen sind, waschen Sie das Element in lauwarmem Wasser mit einem milden Reinigungsmittel, spülen Sie es gründlich und lassen Sie es an der frischen Luft ganz durchtrocknen. Hitze ist das Einzige, das diese Elemente zerstört, daher keine Heizungen, keine Heißluftpistolen und keine Flammen – und es kommt trocken und unbehandelt zurück ins Luftfiltergehäuse.
