Ein feines Medium ist ein Versprechen darüber, was den Motor nicht erreicht, und dieses Versprechen gilt nur, solange das Element weiter atmet. Staubige Luft belädt einen Filter schneller als saubere Luft, weshalb dieses Element öfter ausgebaut und gereinigt werden möchte als das gewebte Straßenelement im selben Gehäuse. Das ist die eigentliche Entscheidung hinter diesem Teil, und sie hat weniger mit der Scrambler 400 X zu tun als mit demjenigen, der sie wartet: feineres Medium, kürzere Intervalle, und eine Aufgabe, die etwas verlangt, das Ihnen keine Werkstatt zuschicken kann.

Das Werkzeug, von dem dieses Versprechen abhängt
Druckluft ist die Methode. Die Luftpistole wird auf die saubere Seite des CM267P14 gerichtet und drückt die Ladung auf demselben Weg wieder hinaus, was mit einem Werkstattkompressor oder einer Tankstellen-Druckluftsäule ein paar Minuten Arbeit ist. Fehlt beides, erledigen Wasser und ein mildes Reinigungsmittel dasselbe, aber die Matte muss vollständig durchtrocknen, bevor sie zurückgeht, wodurch aus einer kurzen Abendaufgabe eine über Nacht wird. Keiner der beiden Wege ist schwierig, und keiner kostet ein Bauteil; beide müssen aber tatsächlich rechtzeitig geschehen, denn ein feines Medium erreicht in schmutziger Luft einen gegebenen Widerstand früher als ein grobes. Mehr vom Staub wird aufgehalten statt durchgelassen, und genau das ist der Tausch, den man hier erwirbt.
Wo es an einer 400 X hingehört
Schotterwege auf dem Weg zu den guten Straßen, trockene Feldwege im Spätsommer, Wetterphasen, in denen jeder vorbeifahrende Lkw den Straßenrand in die Luft wirbelt. Das ist die Luft, für die diese Matte konzipiert wurde. Dem gegenüber steht der Durchflusswert: 1.800 gegen 5.050 über dieselbe Flächeneinheit, kein Rundungsfehler. An einem Serien-400er-Einzylinder, der meist unterhalb der oberen Drehzahlgrenze gefahren wird, begrenzt diese Obergrenze selten etwas; an einer Maschine, die oft und lange am Vollgasanschlag gehalten wird, ist das gewebte Element besser ausbalanciert. Keines von beiden ist ein Leistungsteil – kein Element dieser Art verleiht einem Serienmotorrad mehr Leistung, und dieses wird gekauft, um etwas abzuziehen.
Pflege und Reinigung
Bei einer Tiefenspeicher-Matte entscheidet die Richtung über alles: Luft auf die saubere Fläche und nach außen, nie nach innen, sonst wird die Ladung nur tiefer hineingedrückt. Sobald Luft allein nicht mehr genügt, übernehmen lauwarmes Wasser und ein mildes Spülmittel; spülen, bis es klar abläuft. Nur an offener, bewegter Luft trocknen – Heizkörper, Heißluftpistolen und Flammen verformen das Material – und trocken montieren. Passform & Kompatibilität
Gebaut für den Luftfilterkasten der Triumph Scrambler 400 X, 2024 bis 2026, als dauerhafter Ersatz für den Wegwerf-Einsatz. Drei Maschinen aus Triumphs 400er-Familie teilen sich diese Teilenummer; der Reiter „Passform" nennt für jede das Datum.
