Ein unverkleidetes Motorrad setzt seinen Fahrer derselben Luft aus, die der Motor trinkt, was einen Kawasaki-Z1100-Fahrer über den eigenen Filter besser informiert, als es jede Wartungstabelle je sein könnte. Grieß auf dem Visier nach einem Stück frisch ausgebesserter Straße. Ein heißer Nachmittag auf einem Feldweg mit einem Dunst über dem Asphalt. Nichts davon steht in einem Wartungsplan, und alles davon ist direkter Beweis dafür, womit die Ansaugung gefüttert wird. Der Sprint Filter P14 PM111P14 ist das Element für Fahrer, deren eigene Erfahrung ihnen sagt, dass ihre Luft belastet ist: ein trockenes Vlies-Medium, das bis 14 Mikron filtert, wo das Standard-P08-Gewebe bis 80 filtert.

Das Medium folgt der Route, nicht dem Tacho
Zwei Z1100 mit identischem Kilometerstand können Luft atmen, die sich um eine Größenordnung unterscheidet. Die eine pendelt auf gefegten städtischen Schnellstraßen in feuchtem Klima; die andere lebt am Ende von acht Kilometern unbefestigter Straße in einer Region mit langen trockenen Sommern. Die Wahl eines Filtermediums ist der eine Punkt, an dem ein Fahrer mit dem antworten kann, was er tatsächlich weiß, und das verdient Ehrlichkeit in beide Richtungen: Der P14 erkauft Rückhaltung und bezahlt dafür mit Durchfluss, 1.800 l/m²/sek gegenüber den 5.050 des Standardelements. Wenn die Straßen sauber sind und das Motorrad hart und drehzahlstark gefahren wird, ist der P08 die bessere Balance bei einem Liter-Vierzylinder. Wenn die Luft wirklich schmutzig ist, beantwortet das feinere Medium das Problem, das tatsächlich besteht.
Etwas, das Sie prüfen können, statt zu raten
Ein waschbares Element macht die Kontrolle kostenlos, und kostenlose Kontrollen sind diejenigen, die tatsächlich durchgeführt werden. Das ist der ehrliche Vorteil, und es ist kein Leistungsversprechen: Ein Einsteckfilter macht ein Serienmotorrad nicht spürbar stärker, und dieser gibt bewusst Durchfluss ab. Was er bietet, ist ein Ansaugwiderstand, der über das gesamte Intervall stabil bleibt statt zu schleichen, dabei feinere Rückhaltung, und ein Teil, das nach jeder Fahrt, die sich schmutzig angefühlt hat, beurteilt werden kann, statt zu einem festen Datum ersetzt zu werden.
Pflege und Reinigung
Hier wird nichts geölt, was die Reinigung einfach hält: Druckluft von der sauberen Seite, nach außen gerichtet. Wenn die Straßen mehr verdient haben, lauwarmes Wasser und ein mildes Reinigungsmittel, dann spülen, bis das Wasser klar abläuft. Das Trocknen erfolgt an der Luft, nirgends in der Nähe von Hitze oder Flamme, und das Element geht trocken wieder hinein. Das Wartungsblatt ist im Downloads-Tab.
