Sprint Filter P14 Air Filter for Dusty Conditions – Moto Morini Scrambler (2018–2020) CM170P14

Eleven Moto Morini models take the standard element for this airbox. Exactly two are offered the 14-micron mat: the Scrambler and the Super Scrambler. Sprint Filter drew the fine grades for the two machines in the range expected to leave the tarmac, and left the Corsaros, Granpassos and the Milano with the standard weave alone. That is the clearest statement the catalogue makes about this housing, and it is worth taking seriously.

Two machines out of eleven

What the mat costs and buys

The two bench figures move in opposite directions, and both of them count. Flow drops to 1,800 from the standard weave's 5,050; retention of fine airborne material rises by considerably more than that ratio suggests. Neither number makes one medium better than the other — they describe different working conditions, and the drop applies on clean roads exactly as it does on dusty ones. What the mat does not do is add output. Fitted in a series airbox, it leaves a standard Scrambler as strong as it was and no stronger.

Care and cleaning

Depth-loaded material gives its dirt back reluctantly, so plan for time rather than force. Low-pressure air on the clean side first, patiently; then a wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinsed until the water leaves colourless. Drying is the step people rush and should not: moving air at room temperature until the mat is dry all the way through, with every heat source kept away from it. Nothing is sprayed on afterwards.
