Das WorldSBK-Element für die F4RR gibt es in drei Versionen, und die Wahl zwischen ihnen ist die einzig wirkliche Entscheidung bei diesem Angebot. R189S-SBK trägt das P08-Gewebe mit 80 µm und 5.050 l/m²/sek. Eine zweite Teilenummer trägt das F1-85-Racing-Gewebe aus Fäden ab 22 µm mit 15.000. Eine dritte trägt das wasserabweisende P037 mit 37 µm und 4.500. Geht man diese Liste durch, zerfällt die ordentliche Annahme, feiner bedeute immer besser, gleich zweimal.

Wo die Rangfolge zerbricht
Steigt man das Sortiment hinab, kauft jedes feinere Gewebe Rückhaltung und bezahlt sie mit Durchfluss: P037 mit 37 µm liefert 4.500 l/m²/sek, P14 mit 14 µm liefert 1.800, T12 mit 7 µm liefert 560. Das ist ein Tauschgeschäft, keine Rangfolge, und ein T12 ist kein besserer Filter als ein P08 – er ist für andere Luft gemacht. Der Bruch kommt an der Spitze der Liste. Die 85 in F1-85 gehört zum Namen und sagt nichts über eine Porengröße aus; das Gewebe ist anders aufgebaut, aus Polyesterfäden ab 22 µm Durchmesser, und im Test von Sprint Filter hielt es 95,22 % der 100-Mikron-Partikel zurück, gegenüber 93,13 % beim P08, bei dreifachem Durchfluss. In der Liste für die F4RR steigt das eine Medium mit mehr Durchfluss also nicht bei der Rückhaltung ab, um dorthin zu kommen.
Welches gehört in eine F4RR
Die P08-Version ist der Ausgangspunkt, und für die meisten Besitzer ist sie auch das Ende der Frage. Das F1-85 wird für anhaltende Volllastfahrt gekauft – der Art, die gehalten und nicht nur kurz abgerufen wird – und verlangt deutlich mehr Geld für Kapazität, die ein straßengefahrenes Motorrad nie ausschöpft. Das P037 beantwortet Wetter statt Geschwindigkeit, ein wasserabweisendes Gewebe für im Nassen genutzte Maschinen. Keines der drei macht den Motor spürbar stärker, daher geht es bei der Wahl um die Bedingungen, in denen das Element leben muss, nicht um eine Linie auf einem Diagramm.
Pflege und Reinigung
Die Regeneration hier ist mechanisch, nicht chemisch. Druckluft auf die saubere Seite des R189S-SBK, nach außen geblasen, versetzt das Gewebe wieder in einen Zustand nahe dem Original, und meistens ist das bereits das gesamte Verfahren. Eine Wäsche behandelt, was eine schmutzige Phase überlebt: ein mildes Reinigungsmittel in warmem Wasser, dann eine Spülung, bis das ablaufende Wasser klar ist. Danach lässt man es in offener Luft in Ruhe, bis es durchgetrocknet ist. Heißluftgeräte, Heizkörper und Flammen sind allesamt tabu, denn Polyester ist der Teil, den Hitze angreift.
