Die Liste der Arbeiten, die ein Besitzer an einem aktuellen Motorrad noch selbst erledigen kann, wird mit jeder Generation kürzer. Fahrmodi, Traktionskontrolle und das Motormanagement dieser Hayabusa liegen alle hinter Software, das Bremssystem hat seine eigene Elektronik, und der größte Teil des Wartungsplans ist für eine Werkstatt mit Laptop geschrieben. Was in den Händen des Besitzers bleibt, ist eine kurze Liste, und der Luftfilter steht darauf. Der Einbau eines Sprint Filter P08 PM208S hält ihn dauerhaft darauf: Statt eines Teils, das nach Plan gekauft und weggeworfen wird, enthält der Luftfilterkasten ein Element, das herausgenommen, gereinigt und wieder eingebaut wird, solange das Motorrad im Besitz ist.

Die kurze Liste, und etwas darauf behalten
Es gibt einen praktischen Unterschied zwischen einem Teil, das man ersetzt, und einem Teil, das man pflegt. Ein Ersatz ist eine Besorgung: Die Verpackung wird geöffnet, wenn das neue Teil zur Hand ist, und bis dahin lässt sich nichts Sinnvolles tun. Wartung ist eine Gewohnheit, und Gewohnheiten halten, weil ihre Wiederholung nichts kostet. An einer Maschine, bei der so vieles andere außer Reichweite gerückt ist, ist es mehr wert, als der Panelpreis vermuten lässt, eine Komponente in dieser Routine zu behalten.
Wofür er ehrlich gedacht ist
Nicht für Leistung. Nichts, was Sie in einen unveränderten Luftfilterkasten einsetzen, macht eine Serien-Hayabusa spürbar stärker, und die Abstimmung wurde bereits mit eingebautem Filter freigegeben. Der Gewinn ist ein Widerstand, der niedriger ist und – die Hälfte, die zählt – von einer Wartung zur nächsten konstanter bleibt. Die doppelte Gewebefläche verteilt eine gegebene Staubmenge über mehr Fläche, und eine Druckluftpistole setzt das Element auf seinen Ausgangswert zurück. In Sprint Filters eigenem Vergleich hält das trockene P08 93,13 Prozent der Testpartikel bei 100 Mikron zurück, wo vierlagige geölte Baumwolle 76,42 schafft. Für härtere Luft gibt es engere Medien, jedes tauscht dafür Durchsatz ein: 37 Mikron bei 4.500 Liter, 14 Mikron bei 1.800, 7 Mikron bei 560. Andere Aufgaben, keine besseren.
Pflege und Reinigung
Die alltägliche Wartung des PM208S braucht nicht mehr als eine Druckluftpistole, von der sauberen Seite her angesetzt, sodass der Staub zurück aus dem Gewebe wandert statt tiefer hinein. Sollte das nicht mehr genügen, befreit ihn ein Bad in lauwarmem Wasser mit einem milden Reinigungsmittel – so lange ausspülen, wie sich das Wasser noch verfärbt. Anschließend vollständig allein an der Luft durchtrocknen lassen, ohne Heißluftpistole und ohne Flamme in der Nähe, und unbehandelt wieder einbauen. Das Wartungsblatt liegt im Downloads-Tab bereit.
Passform & Kompatibilität
Gefertigt für den Serien-Luftfilterkasten der Suzuki Hayabusa von 2021 bis 2026 und ausschließlich für diese Generation gelistet. Die von 2008 bis 2019 gebaute Maschine trägt denselben Namen, aber ein anderes Element – bestellen Sie also nach Baujahr, nicht nach Namen. Siehe den Fitment-Tab.
