Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – MV Agusta RVS #1 (2018–2026) CM135S

RVS stands for Reparto Veicoli Speciali, the department MV Agusta uses when it wants to build something in very small numbers and stop asking whether it makes commercial sense. The result was a few hundred motorcycles with a great deal of carbon and machined aluminium, and an owner base that will spend the next twenty years wondering where to get parts. The Sprint Filter P08 CM135S answers that question for one item at least, and it answers it twice over.

Twice over

First, this is not an RVS part. CM135S serves the whole 798 cc triple family — the Brutale, the F3, the Rivale, the Stradale, the Superveloce, the Turismo Veloce — eleven models, several of them still in production. The element stays available no matter how few RVS #1s were built. Second, because it is cleaned rather than replaced, most owners will never order a second one at all. The availability question mostly stops applying.

A bike built from special parts, filtered by an ordinary one

There is something fitting about that. The airbox on an RVS #1 is the airbox from the rest of the range, and the element that belongs in it is the one MV Agusta specified for a Brutale. What changes with this filter is not the specification but the medium: dry polyester with roughly double the filtering surface, so the intake starts from a lower restriction and stays there far longer than paper can.

Care and cleaning

Blow it through from the clean side with compressed air, working outwards. For a deeper clean, wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinse until the water runs clear, and dry fully in air — never with heat, never with a flame. Refit dry.
