Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – KTM 1290 Super Adventure (2015–2016) PM155S

This is the base 1290 Super Adventure as KTM listed it for the 2015 and 2016 model years, before the range split into the R and S designations that followed. Semi-active suspension, cornering lighting and the longer options list belong to the variants; what this machine has is the 1301 cc V-twin and the chassis, and for a certain kind of buyer that was always the point.

Fewer options, identical intake

Specification differences between variants live almost entirely above the engine — in suspension hardware, in lighting, in what the dashboard is willing to tell you. The airbox does not change between them, and neither does the element inside it. That is why the P08 PM155S is not listed here as an alternative to some cheaper base-model part: there is no such thing. The intake side of a 1290 Super Adventure is the intake side of a 1290 Super Adventure S, and the same is true across all thirteen KTM and Husqvarna machines this element serves.

A two-year model, kept by the people who chose it

The base version was current briefly, which means most surviving examples are owned deliberately rather than incidentally — bought used by riders who wanted the engine and the tank range without paying for electronics they had no intention of using. Those owners tend to keep motorcycles a long time, and long ownership is exactly where a washable element earns its place. Woven polyester from threads of at least 22 micrometres does not soften with age the way paper does, and it is restored with compressed air rather than replaced on a schedule.

Care and cleaning

Blow it through from the clean side with compressed air, working outwards. For a deeper clean, wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinse until the water runs clear, and let it dry fully in air — never with heat, never with a flame.
