Titan bis nach innen
Viele Schalldämpfer heißen Titan und meinen die Außenhülle. Der Konix Evo meint das Ganze: Gehäuse, das gelochte Innenrohr in der Mitte und die innere Endkappe sind ebenfalls aus Titan.
Daher kommt der Unterschied zum vorherigen Konix. Sparks eigener Vergleich lautet, dass der Evo genau deshalb extrem leicht ist, weil er vollständig aus Titan besteht und nicht nur außen. Das Ergebnis an einer Multistrada sind 1,1 kg weniger gegenüber einem Serienteil, das ohnehin nicht schwer war.
Für den V4 Granturismo gebaut
Sparks Vorgabe für den V4-Granturismo-Motor lautete auf drei Dinge gleichzeitig: die Leistung maximieren, dem Motorrad eine dunkle, aggressive Stimme geben und innerhalb der Euro-5-Geräuschgrenzen bleiben. Das zieht gegeneinander — und deshalb ist der Schalldämpfer eine gezielte Entwicklung für diesen Motor und kein Universaltopf mit Adapter.
Das Detail mit dem Hitzeschutz
Eine Kleinigkeit, die an einem Motorrad mit Koffern und Sozius zählt: Das originale Hitzeschutzblech der Multistrada lässt sich am Verbindungsrohr von Spark montieren. Sie verlieren den Schutz nicht, den Ducati vorgesehen hat, und der Bereich um Koffer und Soziusstiefel bleibt, wie er war.
Der dB-Killer ist nicht herausnehmbar
Spark sagt es klar, und wir sagen es auch: Der dB-Killer dieses Slip-Ons ist eingebaut und lässt sich nicht entnehmen. Das ist eine bewusste Folge der Homologation — die Bescheinigung beschreibt den Schalldämpfer so, wie er das Werk verlässt, und es gibt keine Konfiguration, die außerhalb davon läge.
Wenn Sie von diesem Artikel eine lautere Rennstreckenstellung erwartet haben: Er hat keine. Was er hat, ist eine Bescheinigung, die bei einer Kontrolle keiner Erklärung bedarf.
Racing-Design, Straßenpapiere
Der Konix Evo ist eine aggressive Form — ein sich verjüngender Keil mit der am Austritt zurückgeschnittenen Carbonkappe, näher an dem, was Spark für die Rennstrecke baut, als an dem, was Ducati an ein Reisemotorrad hängt. Die Bescheinigung ist das, was ihn an einem Motorrad bleiben lässt, das Grenzen überquert.
Was am Motorrad bleibt
Dies ist ein Slip-On, die Multistrada behält also ihren originalen Krümmer und ihren Katalysator. Das ist der Grund, warum es die Euro-5-Bescheinigung überhaupt gibt, und auch der Grund, warum sich der Einbau in Stunden statt in einem freien Tag misst.
Es wird nichts geschnitten und nichts gebohrt. Der Serienschalldämpfer kann mit seinen eigenen Schrauben jederzeit wieder dran, wenn das Motorrad verkauft wird — was bei einer Multistrada mehr wert ist, als es klingt: Diese Maschinen wechseln mit Scheckheft und Originalteilen den Besitzer.
