Die Mittelklassegröße
Achtunddreißig ist ein gängiger Krümmerdurchmesser an Parallel-Twins zwischen 650 und 900 cm³ und eine häufige Verbindungsgröße hinter dem Sammler eines Mittelklasse-Vierzylinders. Es ist außerdem der Innendurchmesser des Grid-O-dB-Killers, den Spark seinen MT-07- und XSR700-Anlagen beilegt — ein guter Anhaltspunkt für das Gasvolumen, für das die Größe bemessen ist.
Vor dem Kauf messen
Auspuffrohr wird über den Außendurchmesser angegeben, und die Zahl auf einem Originalteil ist oft der Innendurchmesser. Achtunddreißig außen bei einem Millimeter Wand ergibt sechsunddreißig innen — eine Anlage, die als sechsunddreißig beschrieben wird, ist also sehr wahrscheinlich dieses Rohr.
Messen Sie außen mit einem Messschieber und vergleichen Sie diesen Wert, nicht eine Nennangabe aus einem Werkstatthandbuch.
Eine Verbindung hülsen
Um ein 38-mm-Rohr in ein anderes zu stecken, brauchen Sie ein Zwischenstück: ein kurzes Stück der nächsten Größe, je nach Passung aufgeweitet oder wie geliefert, an ein Ende geschweißt. Sparks eigene Anlagen nutzen durchgehend Steckverbindungen, von Federn gehalten, und lassen sich deshalb für die Wartung trennen.
Zwei stumpf verschweißte Rohre gehen nie wieder auseinander. Das lohnt einen Gedanken, bevor der Brenner kommt.
Halten, nicht aufhängen
Ein halber Meter dünnwandiger Edelstahl wiegt fast nichts und reißt trotzdem an einer Naht, wenn er an einem einzigen Punkt hängt. Zwei Aufnahmen, davon mindestens eine gummigelagert, ist die Regel, die eine Eigenbauanlage über eine Saison bringt.
Wo der Schalldämpfer sitzt
Achtunddreißig ist eine Verbindungsgröße und kein Schalldämpfereingang. Sparks Universalgehäuse nehmen sechzig; von einem zum anderen zu kommen heißt entweder einen Konus — Artikel SGMA14 macht den Schritt 60 auf 40 — oder einen eigenen abgestuften Übergang. Planen Sie diesen Teil des Verlaufs, bevor Sie die geraden Abschnitte schneiden.
Ein halber Meter
Spark liefert eine Länge je Artikel. An den meisten Aufbauten sind zwei oder drei Stücke desselben Durchmessers die realistische Bestellung — Schneiden, Ausklinken und ein misslungener Bogen verbrauchen Material.
