Die Ecke, die am ehesten wandern muss
Rechte Winkel sind die Stellen, an denen eine Anlage anstößt. Der Abstand, der auf der Werkbank genügte, genügt nicht mehr, sobald die Federung arbeitet, und die Ecke muss neu verdreht oder entlang der Strecke verschoben werden.
Verschweißt ist das eine Arbeit für die Säge. Als Steckverbindung sind es zwei Federn und fünf Minuten. An dem Teil, das beim ersten Versuch am ehesten falsch sitzt, lohnt es, das einzuplanen.
Ein U ohne 180er
Zwei davon mit einem kurzen 40-mm-Rohr dazwischen ergeben eine vollständige Kehre, gefedert, in der Breite verstellbar und abnehmbar. Spark baut in diesem Durchmesser keinen 180°-Bogen — und braucht es mit diesem Artikel auch nicht.
In welche Richtung die Stufe zeigt
Eine Steckverbindung hinterlässt immer eine kleine innere Stufe. Bauen Sie so zusammen, dass das Gas von der kleineren in die größere Bohrung strömt — Rohr innen, Bogen außen, in Strömungsrichtung. Umgekehrt zeigt die Stufe stromauf und wird zur Kante, gegen die das Gas schlägt.
Die Muffe entgraten
Die Innenkante des weiblichen Endes will ebenso eine leichte Fase wie das eingeschobene Rohr. Ein Grat in der Muffe fasst das ankommende Rohr, riefelt es — und ist der Grund, warum sich eine einmal gefügte Verbindung nicht mehr sauber trennen lässt.
Zum Heften halten
Austenitischer Edelstahl ist unmagnetisch, magnetische Aufbauklötze nützen nichts. Zwingen, ein Prismenblock und eine ebene Fläche sind das Werkzeug — und eine Steckverbindung hält sich beim Heften wenigstens selbst in der Flucht.
An das anpassen, was am Motorrad ist
Zweiundvierzig gibt es, weil Hersteller nicht zu runden Zahlen bauen. Misst ein Werkskrümmer dieses Maß, trifft der Bogen ihn direkt — kein Übergangsstück, keine Stufe in der Bohrung, keine zusätzliche undichte Stelle.
