An das anpassen, was schon da ist
Sehr viele Eigenbau-Auspuffe beginnen an einem vorhandenen Krümmer statt am weißen Blatt, und dieser Krümmer hat das Maß, das der Hersteller gewählt hat. Zweiundvierzig kommt oft genug vor, dass Spark die Größe hält — und exakt zu treffen spart sowohl ein Übergangsstück als auch die Strömungsstörung, die ein Übergang verursacht.
Messen Sie außen mit dem Messschieber. Eine Handbuchangabe ist meist ein Nennmaß innen und führt zum falschen Artikel.
Eine Ecke mit Muffe
Zweiundvierzig außen bei einem Millimeter Wand ergibt vierzig innen, ein 40-mm-Rohr schiebt sich also direkt in das Ende dieses Bogens. Ecke und Verbindung werden ein Teil, ohne Hülse und ohne auszurichtende Stumpfnaht.
An einem Projekt in 40-mm-Rohr machen ein paar davon aus einer verschweißten Anlage eine wartbare.
Einen Winkel genau messen
Ein digitaler Winkelmesser an den beiden geraden Enden ist mehr wert als Augenmaß, besonders wenn zwei Bögen kombiniert werden. Ein halbes Grad Fehler an der ersten Verbindung wird am Schalldämpfer zu einem Zentimeter.
Die Steckseite anfasen
Geht dieser Bogen in eine größere Hülse, brechen Sie die Außenkante des Schnitts mit einer Feile. Eine scharfe Kante hakt beim Einschieben, zieht in der Hülse einen Grat — und dieser Grat verhindert, dass sich die Verbindung für den Service wieder trennen lässt.
Unrundheit am Krümmungsende
Jeder Bogen ist am Übergangspunkt am wenigsten rund. Bei einem dorngeformten Teil ist die Abweichung klein, aber eine enge Steckpassung findet sie. In zwei Achsen messen, bevor Sie annehmen, dass ein Rohr hineingeht — und das Ende notfalls auf einem Dorn runden.
