Der Schalldämpfer-Eingangsdurchmesser
Sparks Universal-Force-Evo G00SI23T, der Konix Evo G00SI25T, der Grid-O G00SI26T und die Megaphone-Gehäuse nehmen alle einen 60-mm-Eingang, ebenso eine lange Reihe von Edelstahlkrümmern an modellspezifischen Anlagen.
Damit ist sechzig der Durchmesser, in dem man baut, wenn die Strecke an einem Spark-Dämpfer endet. Zwischen diesem Bogen, den 45°- und 90°-Fassungen und der Geraden lässt sich eine ganze Strecke vom Sammler bis zum Gehäuse zusammensetzen, ohne eine Biegemaschine in der Werkstatt.
Der letzte Bogen vor dem Schalldämpfer
Dreißig Grad ist sehr oft die letzte Korrektur: Der Sammler liegt fest, die Dämpferaufnahme liegt fest, und eine flache Neigung bringt beides zusammen. Ob dieser Bogen richtig verdreht ist, entscheidet, ob das Gehäuse parallel zur Schwinge sitzt oder leicht nach unten zeigt.

Gasgeschwindigkeit bei sechzig
Sechzig Millimeter ist großzügig. Es passt zu einem Liter-Vierzylinder, einem großen V-Twin oder zu allem mit einer Vorschalldämpfer-Box davor. An einer Mittelklassemaschine kostet es Ansprechverhalten von unten, und keine spätere Schalldämpferwahl holt das zurück.
Der Durchmesser ist die eine Entscheidung, die sich später nicht ohne Neubau korrigieren lässt.
Umgang mit einem großen dünnen Bogen
Bei sechzig Millimetern und einem Millimeter Wand dellt das Teil, wenn es auf eine Kante fällt, und wird unrund, wenn es hart gespannt wird. Beim Schneiden über die Länge abstützen und nur an den geraden Enden spannen.
Innen im Bogen nach dem Schweißen
Anlauffarben bilden sich innen ebenso wie außen, und in einer Krümmung sind sie schwer zu sehen und gar nicht zu erreichen. Sauber formieren, dann entsteht das Problem nicht; ohne Formiergas ist die Innenseite des Bogens die Stelle, an der die Anlage zu versagen beginnt.
