Vom Rennsport abgeleitete Aerodynamik im Detail
Winglets sind längst nicht mehr den Werks-MotoGP-Maschinen vorbehalten. Puigs Entwicklungsteam arbeitete während der gesamten WorldSBK-Entwicklung mit dem Kawasaki Racing Team zusammen, um diese aerodynamischen Daten in ein Anschraubpaket zu übersetzen, das jeder ambitionierte Streckenfahrer zuhause montieren kann. Im Kern des Designs steht ein sorgfältig profilierter Flügelquerschnitt, der vom Moment des Verlassens der Boxengasse an gleichmäßigen Downforce erzeugt. Das Ergebnis ist eine Frontpartie, die klar über den Lenker kommuniziert, unter Last am Boden bleibt und auch bei tiefen Bremspunkten gefasst bleibt.
Stabilität, Sicherheit und Kontrolle
Die praktischen Vorteile auf der Strecke sind unmittelbar spürbar. Shimmy an der Frontpartie — jene beunruhigende seitliche Bewegung, die bei hoher Geschwindigkeit auf langen Geraden auftreten kann — wird deutlich reduziert, da die Winglets die vertikale Last auf dem Vorderreifen erhöhen. Die Anti-Wheelie-Leistung wird verbessert, ohne das Elektronik-Mapping anzutasten, da der aerodynamische Druck das Rad ganz natürlich in Kontakt mit dem Asphalt hält. Dies sind reine Rennstrecken-Komponenten, konzipiert und ausgelegt für den Einsatz auf abgesperrten Strecken, wo die Leistungsanforderungen an Fahrwerkskomponenten am extremsten sind.
