Wo es sitzt
Als Maß nennt Öhlins Innendurchmesser 34 mm, Außendurchmesser 38 mm, Stärke 0.30 mm. Shims sind dünne Federstahlscheiben, die den Ölfluss am Kolben regeln. Beim Abstimmen wird an genau diesem Paket gearbeitet, nicht an den Verstellern. Ein Shimpaket besteht aus mehreren Durchmessern, die von innen nach außen kleiner werden.

Öhlins hält Positionen oft über Modellgenerationen hinweg gleich, tauscht aber ohne Ankündigung Werkstoffe. Zwei Hundertstel mehr Dicke ändern das Ansprechverhalten spürbar. Ihre Dicke und ihr Durchmesser ergeben zusammen die Dämpfungskennlinie. Bei größeren Überholungen prüfen wir vorab, welche Positionen zusammengehören. Zuordnung über die Nummer
Nummer 01130-02 und Maß gehören zusammen; weicht eines ab, ist es die falsche Position. Öhlins stanzt und schleift die Scheiben, damit die Kante sauber anliegt. Gestapelt bilden sie ein Paket, dessen Reihenfolge nicht vertauscht werden darf.
