Few motorcycles work harder than an R1200RT. The JP CO BM018 replaces the combined throttle housing and right-hand switch block with a single milled Ergal body.

The Working Motorcycle
Police forces across Europe have used the RT for decades, and the reason is simple: it will do 800 kilometres in a day, every day, with a full fairing, electrically adjusted screen and luggage as standard. Civilian examples are used the same way. This is a motorcycle bought to accumulate mileage rather than to be looked at.
Cycle Counts Nothing Else Reaches
An RT's indicator and mode controls are operated more times in a year than a sports bike's are in a decade. Nothing dramatic happens as a result. The buttons simply become vague, and the point at which the rider notices is usually years after the deterioration began. Replacing the assembly restores a definite action.
One Part for Two Jobs
BMW integrated the right-hand switches into the throttle housing, so both are renewed together whether one wants to or not. This unit is machined from a single piece of Ergal 7075 and anodised black, and it plugs directly into the standard connector without any wiring work.
Unlettered Version
An RS-badged housing exists in the same family. This part carries no lettering, which on a full-dress tourer with a large fairing and a wide cockpit tends to be the less distracting option.
Why Tourers Wear Out Switchgear
It is not abuse, it is repetition. Ten thousand indicator operations a year, cruise control adjusted on every motorway stretch, heated grips cycled twice a day for six months of the year. Nothing on a sports bike accumulates that kind of count, which is why an RT's controls feel older than its mileage suggests.
