The Staggered Arrangement
One of two, and the master cylinder decides. An R being prepared for competition will almost certainly have an aftermarket assembly by the time the switchgear is considered.
A Narrow Fitment
The 2026 R alone. Homologation specials change their cockpit hardware more often than volume models do, and ordering from the model name rather than the year is how mistakes happen.
Nothing Below the Assembly
Ducati sells the block complete because the switches are not separable from it in any practical sense. A single failed contact retires the whole component.
A Film, Then a Fault
Moisture leaves an oxide layer on a terminal that raises resistance rather than breaking contact. On a race bike the symptom appears mid-session and then disappears again, which is worse.
Identical, Batch After Batch
Cut parts do not drift. An injection tool does, and on a machine that gets rebuilt between rounds a component that always fits the same way is worth having.
No Legends at All
There is nothing printed on this body to disappear. On a race bike the markings on a moulded block usually go within two seasons of ultraviolet and cleaning products.
Under the Capacity Limit
Nine hundred and ninety-eight cubic centimetres from a shortened stroke. The R exists because World Superbike requires a road version and it does not pretend otherwise.
Titanium Rods
Nothing conventional survives the revs a short-stroke Stradale reaches across a racing season. The R's internals are a consequence of that ceiling rather than a specification flourish.
Wings That Work Early
The R's bodywork produces measurable load well below top speed. The problem is keeping the front wheel loaded under acceleration, not achieving a higher terminal velocity.
